Rather boring 1st week for a Giro, and the 2nd week doesn't look very promising on paper. Anyway, I'm glad it's still all open.

Well, 8, 12 and 14 should be good. If someone want to race that is. Otherwise, stage 10 should make for some decent youtube cycling.

Schleck looking stronger than Rujano I cant belive it. I think Scarponi is going to win this, dont think Basso is going to be to strong this Year.

Obviously Schleck looks strong but Scarponi looks even stronger to me ^^

We can't really judge who's the strongest just based on today. I think after tomorrow we'll have a much clearer idea of who's going to be up there.

Also a great day for Ryder Hesjedal, taking Canada's first ever pink jersey

I wouldn't count on tomorrow being that different from today. Sure, it's a steeper climb, but there's a few kilometers of flat between the top of the climb and the finish. I think most favourites will think twice before attacking and 'wasting' having to maintain their gap over those kilometers.

I'd say a break takes it. Otherwise someone like Tiralongo again.

Yep.

Plus, the third week is what matters, and everyone's form will be different by then.

I would not say that Schleck is stronger than Rujano. You can't judge everything from one stage and this was a climb at 4% average. So that is nothing compared to the Cervinia and the Stelvio. However, from Rujano's point of view I see Basso as the main opponent.

Oh come one, tomorrow it's 3km @10%, they could crack someone there (Basso, for instance, or Rujano) and make him lose a decent amount of time with those flat kms. If they refuse to race tomorrow I'll go batshit crazy and might kill a kitten.

And they don't want a dead kitten. Sad

Pozzovivo FTW! Pfft

His could be good for Rodriguez - the steepness will suit him and if a small group comes to the top together he has a good kick at the line.

Was wondering if garming would be able to defend pink tomorrow. I see the poor Hesjedal defending it allone in the last climb.

They have a pretty strong domestique in Vande Velde for the mountains, as well as Stetina. They shouldn't do much work until the final climb because they have some workhorses in Robbie Hunter(also their sprinter), and Ramunas Navardaskaus.

BOTD at over 11 minutes:
13 Julien Berard (ALM)
64 Miguel Minguez (EUS)
164 Andrey Amador (MOV)
216 Tomasz Marczynski (VCD)

Small break again, it's probably gonna be the same outcome as yesterday.

Tbh they were in the last two breaks, it's not much but they are definitely trying to do something. You can't be in every break.

Barta tried to get to the break with two other riders (Clement and Keizer) early in the stage but the peloton then got them back, the peloton probably didnt want to much riders up on the road.
