Just some general race news.

Horner seems great to defend his title!
Leipheimer as some of you may know, was struck by a car a few weeks ago, so his form will likely be absent.

Gesink, Nibali and Sagan are also here.

Kittel and Matthews will battle Boonen, McEwan and Ciolek.

Pat McCarty is here for Spidertech to defend his KoM jersey, as well as the Jacques-Maynes brothers.

And of course you cant forget Danielson and Talansky, as well as Rory Sutherland, who usually does well here.

Talansky was great in Romandie. You didn't mention Van Garderen, he should be top 5.

I am hoping for one of these two young Americans, the US needs a new GC star.

Great preview Valv, should be an interesting race.
I see it as Horner vs. Nibali vs. Gesink vs. Velits vs. Garmin battle.
Especially i am interested in what Talansky could do after the great Romandie if he will get the free role besides Danielson and Dave Z.
And of course i am looking to the next Sagan's performance after the month rest, i hope he will try to go for some stage win. Smile

Not Nibbles and Gesink please, I want them fit in the Tour. Not sure about Gesink's shape though, he seemed to start decently, considering the circumstances, but has struggled during the first part of the season.

Yeah, these two are also my darkhorses for July, to break for me hatred trio of E-W-Schl. so probably not the best form in USA, but Nibbles seems riding many races to win ,not just to take part, so i believe in him somewhat here.

But the US riders Horner,Daielson,Talansky are the bigger favourites for sure, maybe OPQS will mix it up a bit, Velits should start doing good again after the good early season.

Edit: Btw i think it is not important in which shape Gesink will be in July, he will crash anyway to not my liking. I hope he will prove me wrong. Pfft

I am definitely not staying up late at night for this Pfft Only Americans care for GC here so Horner has it in the bag if he doesn't get injured somewhere. Sagan too win 2/3 stages as well. Gesink will come anonymous Top 10/15 if you looked how he races this year. Nibs probably Top 5 or 3 if he wants too.

The strength of the field says nothing. Look at the Vuelta last year, Nibbles, Scarponi, Purito, Menchov, VDB, just to have Cobo vs Froome. Most of the best non-Americans will just go to Cali for a training ride.

Gesink has been training hard in the US and hopes to have a good result to build some confidence ahead of the Tour.

But he is uncertain as well about his strength. He has no clue wether he can return to a good level in races. He sas his training values are around or even better than old ones. But in races he lacks rythm

I think a better reason for having the Tour of Cali moved to May, rather than February, is it allows them to ride in better weather. (Or it was supposed to)

And secondly, it gives the riders an alternative, to their build-up for July, even though I dont think riding the Giro is the best option for that anyway.

My dark horse for the sprints, has to be Boivin of Spidertech. I'm also excited to see what David Boily can do, at this level.

Always looking forward to this race. Im often up at night, and its just a fact that there is not enough live cycling at nights!! Pfft Tour of California ftw.

Well should be a good race - or at least i hope so. Its a big target for Brian Vandborg, so i will look forward to se how he can do it in this race.

Yes! One of the few races I get to watch live every year. Pretty sad that NBC doesn't broadcast the Giro but will show the Amgen live for each stage. Just goes to show how the majority of Americans hate supporting sports that are foreign based (like soccer, which I also love that gets minimal coverage). Which means I only get to see the TDF (which I'm surprised they still show that now that Lance isn't competing Pfft ) and California. I really should move to Europe ... Rolling Eyes
