Hi, my name is Rasmus Guldhammer and here's the tale of my cycling career.
I've always loved cycling. And maybe cycling has always been the purpose of my life, since both my father was a professional cyclist, and my elder brother Thomas today rides on a Danish Continental team.
My way to the professional cycling scene started in 2008 when i got a contract with the Danish Continental team, Team Designa Køkken, which the year after was renamed Team Capinordic. It was a special feeling to finally feel "so professional" which was a major change from what i was used to.
2008 was to become one of my best seasons ever, where i had several great results. I had some various top spots in the under 23 Nations Cup, and even became 5th in the Giro della Regioni, and 12th in the U23 World Championship in Varese.

In 2009 my team was now named Team Capinordic, but the riders and staff were the same as last year.
I felt comfortable on the team, and could feel a higher pressure from the director sportifs on the basis of my last season. But actually i felt fine about being under greater pressure and the leader role on the team suited me very well.
The first peak of my season was 2 stage victories and an overall 3rd in the Nations Cup stage race GP du Portugal. This result gave me a hunger for more success...
And success arrived in April.
I rode myself into 2nd spot in the U23 Ronde Van Vlaanderen and later that month I won the U23 Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
After the amazing spring i had had, i felt like everybody was focusing on me. After every race i rode, some journalist always came to hear MY opinion on the race. I've never tried anything near that. Why did they suddenly want to hear my opinion?
I felt fine about the focus, but focus from the media wasn't all i got.
Some of the greatest teams in the world now called me and asked about my future plans and told me about their team and new contracts.
This concluded that i in late August signed a contract with the greatest team in the world, Team HTC - Columbia.
The Great Difference Of Being Professional

I was now a true professional bikerider and as many other, i moved to Italy to benifit from the superior training terrains and the closer distance to the many southern races.
I rode many new races and felt the high pace of the ProTour. This was a dream coming true, and it was something numerous of ameteur riders never was going to experience.
But dreaming of being professional wasn't exactly the same as being professional.
I suddenly missed the unity from my local clubs and teams in Denmark, I missed seeing my Danish friends, and I missed being close to everything I knew about.
At an age of 20 years, I had simply become professional too early...
After 1 year as a professional, I therefore agreed with the man who got me into the team, Brian Holm, that i was able to stop riding at their team by the end of 2011.
I was determined to quit cycling completely. But somwhow i was persuaded to join a Danish Continental team called Team Concordia for the 2012 season...
I started up slowly at Team Concordia and was able to have it all my way.
After some time i finally felt at home at Concordia and in Denmark. I was close to everybody i wanted to be close to, and i had all i wanted.
Slowly I became more and more passionated about cycling again, and my interest and ambitions started grow.
I wanted to win races as i did before...
In the 2011 season i was back again, and even took myself a victory in a Belgian UCI race - I now knew that cycling was what i was supposed to do.
One day i got a phone call from the former professional Danish rider Michael Rasmussen. He asked if my motivation had returned, because if it was, he wanted me on his team, Christina Watches - Onfone, for the 2012 season.
Without saying anything further, I replied:
"My motivation is back, and i'm definitely willing to go back to black!"

But it's nor Løfkvist, Duarte or Taaramae either
I can tell you that he IS a climber, but he's not at the same level as the riders you've guessed so far (at least yet). I can also tell that he's from Europe
