For those of you who do any kind of sports (not just cycling), do you have a major goal for the coming summer/fall? Maybe you want to win your first race, or maybe you have just started exercising and just want to finish your first 5k run.
Personally my major goal is in late June, a half-marathon. There's usually about 600 participants and if I avoid injury I will be hoping for a Top 20 overall and a top 10 in my age group.
So, whats your goal and source of motivation? |

If I avoid injury and I get a good training period I will be going for 1:25:00. If I have a bad day I'll be happy for anything below 1:40, but my goal is to get under 1:30:00 |

Pass my exams with A*'s, do Great North Bike Ride, win some Cycling and motorsport races, and get back into the Yorkshire Hockey squad. |

Get a decent part time job to pay for all the wonderful things I want and currently pay for on a monthly basis.
Do well in school.
Repeat as City Champs in hockey.
And gain some more muscle.

Get myself a right knee that works properly, then run, cycle and swim.
I'll normally (what's normal with such a loose body ?) do a dozen of running competitions this season, from 10 k to a semi-marathon, most being around 15 km.
Also we (at work) had a plan to take part in a team triathlon where I'd do the cycling, that'd be our first participation, but we'd be aiming for nothing less than the win. It's still unsure whether it'll take place because I'm still uncertain about my ability to cycle, and the elections here mean the triathlon is not taking place, at least not at the original date.
Improving my times on any distance I'll do a competition on is of course my plan for the season.
I might also go back in the mountains (Alps or Pyrénées ?) in the Summer, do some climbing with my bike and my friends, but that's far from certain. |

after 2 years of knee troubles I would like to recapture my brilliant climbing form of last summer and if I can find the speed in my legs I may take part in the Oulton Park race series.
I also have Manchester- Blackpool and a few other sportives I would like to do in June/ July.

No sports goals, really. I'm still with my American football team, Avedøre Monarchs. Unfortunately, we have seen a drop in the amount of players, so it's looks like I'm heading towards a season of ironman football which can be fun at times ... but not always |

I was going to beat that lat Summer, just met an old buddy on the start line, spent 10 minutes chatting about non-sense instead of doing more warm up, then struggled to get on pace, and eventually got a stitch during the last 5 km.
Finished in 1:32:XX. Gutted. |

Well, there's your problem; if you wanna accomplish something in life you have to forsake all your friends and family! No matter what!
And if you don't have any friends: go make som friends and then throw them under the bus, it's the only way to be sure of success! |

Heck, Just always hope to still be alive tomorrow. So far so good ... anyhow I'll stick with simple stuff, need to lose some weight to go faster on bike, glad I live in Houston where the tallest mountain to climb is a freeway overpass and 20 feet qualifies as a major elevation change. (And the announcers in the Giro were commenting on how flat Denmark was .... )
