As someone just tweeted:
Robbie McEwen (who came 18th) won a stage of the Tour de l'Avenir the year Ewan was born.

Puts things into perspective Wink

Great to see Giacoppo get a win. Hopefully he can step up for Genesys throughout the domestic season. Losing Von Hoff and Haas is going to leave a big void to fill. Davis also seems to be coming in to form just before the national championships - could he be the man to take it?

Does anyone know in Australia if the TDU will be broadcast on TV? I just checked the SBS ans Eurosport AU schedules and they don't seem to have any coverage of it whatsoever.

I am 90% sure that Channel 9 will have live coverage of at least a couple of stages and probably highlights of the rest. They own the media rights to it in Australia now.

First, this is old news. Second, it's the wrong thread.

Channel 9? That's odd, never thought they'd have any interest in cycling. Maybe Eddie McGuire will commentate.. Wink

..Because he has nothing to do with cycling at all, and probably knows little to nothing about it.

Hmm... I knew that, I can't stand the bloke and less Ed on TV, the better IMO

Anyways, looks like the TDU coverage will be limited

Hosted by Andrew Voss, the Nine Network coverage will present extensive daily highlights and broadcast the final two stages live.

The international voices of cycling – Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen – will provide expert roadside commentary.

The penultimate stage on Saturday, January 21, will be shown live on Nine from 11.30am AEDT while the final stage on Sunday, January 22, will be live from 1.00pm AEDT

Those highlights are for 1 hour, so minus adverts we'll have maybe 20 minutes, and those highlights are to be screened at the friendly time of 11:30pm.

At least ABC grandstand will have radio coverage

The Lotto train was awesome today. Also Sky did a good job but maybe 2 laps too early.

Greipel totally deserving the win ahead of Boasson Hagen and Rojas I guess.

Edit: Haussler obviously was 3rd ahead of Rojas. Wink

Il Grillo
One of the rare times i saw Greipel getting an almost perfect leadout. Hansen and Henderson will be vital for him this season.

roturn
I just thought the same. HEnderson might be their best transfer for Greipel.

Where was GreenEdge by the way. Haven`t seen anything of them today.

Yes, Griepel finally has a very good train, reckon Cavendish v Greipel will be at it's closest this season, if Lotto can produce that train.

Not the best start for GreenEdge too, knowhere to be seen.
