Rankings Update
SportingNonsense
Update includes: Taiwan, Trentino, E3, Leon and De Panne.

Jayco -Red Bull top the table despite only featuring in Taiwan. 304 points picked up there gave them a lead which shouldnt really have been enough, but a lacklustre Blythe means Rapha Condor fall just short of gaining their lead back.

Both teams have pulled away from Volkswagen though, who will not be happy with their efforts in Trentino and Leon, and sees them now under pressure from Aker Solutions, California Giant and Bianchi.

Team Bpost are the top scorers over the last 5 races - scoring a very strong 294 points in E3 Prijs, despite not winning. They did win De Panne though, and a further 249 points there has helped them climb from 20th to 8th in the standings.

Next best in this period are Pokerstars.com. Rujano led them to their first Stage Race triumph in Leon, but they actually scored more points in De Panne - 188 to 170 - with Nolf taking a stage win and 3rd overall, and Kluge also chipping in. This plus Van Impe in E3, sees them climb 7 places to 12th.

This was also a strong period for Emu Export and Pirelli. 378 points from Taiwan is the 8th best points haul from a race so far this season, and it has helped take Emu into the Top 10, while Pirelli also move into the Top 10, to 7th, with 100-pointers achieved in Taiwan, Trentino and Leon.

Three new entries into the Top 10 means 3 departures, and Proximus, CSC-Orbea and Puma-Sap have all slipped down - now in 15th, 16th and 17th - Vespa, Venchi and Ferrari having been able to do enough to hold their own Top 15 positions above them.

Further down, Saab and Trilux have both moved into the Top 20 at the expense of UniCredit and Cerne, who both lost 7 places. Lars Boom's E3 win and De Panne TT win helped Rothaus up 3 to 22nd, while Focused climb 4 to 23rd. Koppert are also climbing, off the bottom spot - which is now held by Cyclevox. The British squad have work to do, with over a 100 point gap to make up to Meiji-Fuji.

Individual

Top scorers over the last 5 races are our 5 race winners, plus Coyot. Niels Albert so far outscoring his intended Cobbles team leader Vanspeybrouck - proving strength in depth to have its uses on this terrain, Maes also having done better than Vanspeybrouck over E3 and De Panne.

Lars Boom meanwhile is delivering quite a hit rate. TT win in Algarve, TT win in De Panne, and race win in E3. Rujano is next on 195, but it took him 9 race days to manage that - Pozzovivvo's manager is likely to be happier with 181 from 4.

Jonathan Bellis still leads the standings overall, although Alarcon has closed the gap. Davis and Marzano remain Top 5 despite dissapointing in their recent efforts. Castano, Boom and Eastman all climb into the Top 10, while Van den Broeck, Pozzovivvo, Stetina and Albert are into the Top 15.

53 points in 5 days for me. With that field, I consider that to be more than I should have hoped for in Castilla y Leon.

Pellizotti2
This doesn't look exactly promising for us. With Caruso's fail in Langkawi we wasted a lot of his precious racedays.

We'll have to rely on surprise results in most races from now, since Niemiec isn't strong enough to be a GC threat in any race.

Still sitting in 4th is nice, but we've used 19 race days, and only taken 182 points since last update. Meaning our points/race day is down to 24 points per race day, which should make the little dream I had of promotion after last update, disappear.

Anyway, it seems like Rapha Condor - Qhubeka and Jayco - Red Bull have established themselves as the top 2 teams, behind them, everything is wide open, and I'm looking forward to see how it will develop.

I had really hoped for better in Trentino and Leon :/ Still, my offical goal is a top 10, but I wanna promote! Hoping for a better period soon

Rin
I hope for the 1 day classics as there are still a lot of these not raced and it's the strength of my team.. I hope for the third place as a damage limitation

5 race days = 248 points is great for me.

If Boom continues like this in future races and Vantomme finds his form soon I can see a top15-20.

Thanks to Taiwan, a still satisfying position for Oz.

Let's see if we can keep this up for the rest of the season Grin

Not last place. Smile

It feels like we are in for a tight rollercoaster of a season, sure the dominators of the African (Rapha Condor) and Asian tours (that's Jayco Red Bull) have stolen a march on the rest of the field. But I feel we are there to be shot at.

Absolutely delighted to be going so strong at this stage we are hitting that metronomic 30 points a race day consistency. It may lack panache as we have not won a single race overall as yet and relatively few stage wins. Not really sure we have any winners for the rest of our April races either.

Margelland and Battenkill we have a mixture of solid hilly men and sprinters, Czech Tour may well be one for the time triallers, my cobbled men are not strong enough for the Dutch race and I really don't know what to make of the Japan tour. We like we had at Taiwan have a strong squad there.

Whatever happens I am really looking forward to some fresh faces in the reporting scene.

Keep on climbing in the table Pfft
Well so far it's an alright season.

Well the team is defiantly making progress, though I doubt the team will be inside top 10 when this month is over. The next few races and perhaps the final 4-5 races will have the weakest line-ups from Pirelli, so I can only hope for something to occur like in Taiwan! Other than that am I pretty comfortable that the team can complete the top 10 goal, though something magical has to happen if we are to promote.

- For me is it Red Bull, Bianchi, and Volkswagen and the last spot could be Californias though I can't remember how many teams will promote (top 4?), since Rapha can't ?

I bet Vespa will soon make heavy steps forward, Trentino was only that start and the same goes for Bianchi and T.CS Bank!

Levi4life
The next few races will be crucial for us. Turkey is our "win" goal, and at the very least I want a decent points haul from Sanchez there. Czech will be important to see if Koren can do what I signed him to do, that is performing in the TT's and surviving in the hills. We miss a few races after that, where I expect to lose ground.

Good races for me, thanks to Coyot´s top-performance in the cobbled races. Well-invested 95,000€Grin
In April, Kessler should do good in Turkey and Coyot has some other cobbled races to get results.

fenian_1234
Vespa making slow progress in the right direction....though in order to really make a jump our two leaders have to consistently win. We're reliant on Bosisio over the next few races which never really works out for us....Sad

Is there any chance of seeing the race days used so far for each team, if of course, you have it?

SportingNonsense
I dont have it, but I think a couple of people did that for earlier updates, so they might be able to update that info.

The best part of my season is over and though I didn't win any of the classics I am still happy with our points haul. 3 riders in the top 5 of E3 really helped a lot.

All of our strongest races are run though we should do alright at Dunkerque and Herning next month and Faso at the end (though I made a stupid move in the race planner there. Other than that it is down to luck and our hilly duo.

After this, I've been going through my race planner and wandering, what on earth was I thinking? Some of my rider choices have been rather odd at best. I'm now hoping for a strong performance in Turkey and Czech to claw some of that gap back, and get us off the bottom.

On the plus side, everyone performing so badly means lower wages come the end of the season, so more cap space Pfft

Wohoo top 10! Wink

I will drop down a bit by the end of the season (probably 15-20th), because I reckon I've used way more race days than everyone else at this point (my season is basically half-done). But all my goal races are coming up so maybe I'll pick up a lot more points in the 2nd half of the season. Whatever my current race-day/point ratio currently is, should start to rise.

Also, congrats Smowz, your strategies are certainly paying off.
