The Tour of Taiwan appears for the first time in the calendar, but nevertheless some big names made the long way.
Starting with a very short prologue and 3 easier stages the 5th and first mountain stage might mix the overall quite a bit.
The 2nd half starts with a hilly uphill sprint and some sprinter stages again.
The final decision might probably come at the very last day on the hardest stage.
Two riders share the big favourite role:
R. Kiserlovski
J. Gadret
While first one still waits for a big win, Gadret as former Tour podium and two time winner of the Dauphine has the biggger experience.
They will be challenged by Emu Export`s Augustyn, Vespa`s Carrara, Focused`s Sicard or Meiji`s Sano.
Aker Solution and Oz Cycling send lots of their climbing goats, that will try to survive the hillier stages for a good overall in Jaramillo/Ortega and Lewis.
Krasnoperov (Emu) and Moreno (Jayco) might also be able to do well, too depending on the work they have to do for their leaders.
For the sprint stages Pirelli with Bazajev and Meiji`s Park are the biggest bets due to their team support. But also Sonnery, Haidar Anuawar, Feillu, De Fauw, Gavazzi or L.S.Haedo will look for their chance.
Puma - SAP is starting with a very young team aiming for some breakaway successes.

Wow, it doesn't happen too often, that some Oz-riders are mentioned as possible favourites in the race-preview Definitely hope for a stage-win here, but the big favourites should be clear, like you said.
Nice to see you reporting some ManGame-races, rotun

This race is one of them I really can't tell why I entered
Would be very nice to see Zrimsek sneak away with the leader's jersey on the prologue, but Laidler should be stronger. For the hilly stages, I hope Haedo can hang on and sprint well, and Roux might try himself in a late attack. And for the Queen stage, I hope for a top 10 from either Ortega or Jaramillo, that would be great.
But our biggest hope is probably that Duenas Nevado gets himself in the right breakaway, resulting in a good overall placing from him.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the reports, and I hope we can surprise. Good luck to everyone else involved! |

Good lukc roturn, I'm sure your writing will be great
Another excellent race choice for Red Bull by the looks of things. If Gadret can pull off the win here they might start challenging Rapha's dominance.

Looks like i basically sent Kiserlovski and no help for the mountains at all, whcih is a little odd even for me. Don't really understand why i didn't send someone who can sprint either.
And i have a feeling that Proni and Scheirlinckx will be too busy helping Kiserlovski to actually attempt to win breakaways.
Really, really don't know what i was planning here

Damn, first race without one of the "three" though I surely hope that Bazajev will give the team something to celebrate - I think stage 2 looks perfect for him
- I can only hope that the team will be on the offensive, on the harder stages and it will be interesting to see how the normal very limited riders will react now that they only have to do any sort of help on the flat stages!

Nice preview roturn and welcome aboard, like everyone I am excited to see how your reporting transfers to the Man Game.
Looking forward to stage 6's 'hilly uphill sprint', I hope Gadret is the biggger man .
The first stage I am interested to see whether TT or downhill counts the most. Cannot see a super TTist here, so Veloso is pretty good bet from my fairly strong looking squad. That is going to be a tricky one to report on going to have to watch the riders cross that line carefully!
Hoping my team can make the race here and avoid any possible crashes for once.

I think you've got an extremely strong team here, compared to the rest of us. It looks more and more like you, like SN, made a masterpiece in the preseason, selecting the right races. Big congratulations on that, promotion seems very realistic for you, 1/3 into your season.
And like everyone else, I'm looking forward to see roturn report from the ManGame aswell. If the screenshots he takes are anywhere near his screenshots in his Garmin story, I'm sure we will see a lot of nice pictures

Hope for a decent - Top 5 - performance from Carrara here with a stage win thrown in for good measure. All you can really ask of your second string leaders. |

Well done with the first report, roturn! I know it's not easy to do those short prologue-reports, like Smowz already said.. but it's well sorted
I'm a bit disappointed by not taking a stage-win here, tbh.. 3rd and 5th is definitely one of our best stage-results so far , but with two of the best timetrialists here, it would have been a great chance for a win.. But I don't want to complain too much as it was really close, as expected.

Well done, roturn, that was a nice report from an intense prologue. I'm a bit disappointed Zrimsek was ranked worst of those on+1, but I guess he didn't have the hundredths on his side, can't alway be lucky
Looking forward to the "real racing" now.

Haven`t seen the TT helmet failure. But have seen that they also had no nif file for the road helmet so they ride without helmet on stage 2 like in someone elses early season report if I remember right. Probably the nif files were missing or wrong in the MG graphic files.
I fixed this with the 3rd stage, so that they have the real helmets. |
