Sponsor problem

This has probably been answered, but I couldn't find it.

I am playing as Adria Mobil, but their contract only runs to 2011, and I wanted to keep the mas a sponsor. So I edited it with Lachis editor, so that they sponsor the team 'till 2018.

Problem is: the search sponsor tab is still there, and the game treats the team as if I had no sponsor, so I can't sign new riders.

Is there any way to fix this, so that I can sign riders pr. July 1st?

Did you also edit DYN_team -> value_i_sponsor_future?

What do you have to put in there?
I looked into that field and I am sure that it is not the budget amount.

I never looked into a save-game to find out what values are used, but based on the name of the column, I can only suppose that it decides whether the team needs a new sponsor or not.

As far as I know it contains two different informations, the length of the contract and the amount of the contract. I found out how to raise the budget for the next year if the sponsor stays in the team. But I don't know how to divide the number which can be found in that column into the two informations.

Old post but since I was playing with this I thought I would update what I found.

The values in the field value_i_sponsor_future and value_i_sponsor_future2 appear to be the product of the sponsor number and 65536. If the sponsor contract expires at the end of the current seasion it will be the product of the new sponsor number and 65536. For AI teams the new sponsor is determined at the beginning of the last year for the old sponsor. So you can tell what the new sponsor will be. In my game we are going to have Liquigas-Pepsi.


For human teams this value seems to go to 0 in the last year of the sponsor contract. Presumably to be replaced by a value once you have a sponsor for the next season.

Putting any value other than 0 in this column seems to fix MrDemus' original problem although I didn't test enough to see what would happen the next year. Probably 65536 x your sponsor number is safest.

One piece I can't explain is that for my custom team the value is not 65536 but 65659.3636. So it doesn't quite work, not sure why that would be.

The last part of that number is the budget for the next year, that I know for sure. Adding 500 to that number will give you additional 500000 next season (yearly budget which will be displayed in the game)

Okay, now I am confused. What am I supposed to put in value_i_sponsor?

I am confident that for AI teams this value is 65536 x the sponsor number. And that this logic also works (or close to it) for player teams when their contract is not up. I didn't really test what happens with player teams in the year the sponsor runs out.

Since you extended your contract in DYN_Sponsor, I suggest you try making value_i_sponsor_future (65536 x your sponsor ID number) + 500.

That will stop the game from forcing you to find a new sponsor. Save you game before you turn to a new season and if it changes your budget in a weird way you can go back and try something else.
