Hey,
I was playing a stage in the Vuelta Asturias on my laptop without AC (netstroom in dutch) when my battery got empty so my pc shut down. After resuming my pc with AC, I got the message that 'pcm 2011 doesn't work anymore' which is normal i thin after my pc shut down but when i wanted to load that savegame again, PCM always crashes and i get the same message sayin: 'PCM 2011 doesn't work anymore'
What can i do about this?
Would be nice if someone could help!

I have the same issue. My battery for my laptop is broke and my charger fell out during playing. When I restarted the computer and the game I never got any further than to the introduction trailer before the game crashed.
I decided to reinstall the game, but even after that the same thing happens. Does anybody have suggestions as what to do? |

If the game crashes (or you make the game crash by doing some weird stuff to your computer), then the save file can get corrupt. You have to delete the corrupt file and load the backup instead. If the backup does not work, you can use the latest weekly save.
The save files are in my documents\pcm2011\users\your name\database\solo\name of DB\
The save file has the ending .cdb
The backup has the same name as the save but the ending is .cdb~.
Remove the ~ to be able to load it in the game.
Weeklysaves are in the folder with that name, move the file to the save file folder to load it in the game |

Is it possible that i fixed it by just opening the .cdb in the fast editor and exporting it again? Cause i did that and it works again.

If the file is corrupt, then it is not even possible to open it with an editor.
But who cares as long as it works. |

I realise now that my problem is not similar to Spilak's. My game simply does not work anymore after my computer accidentally shut down while playing. Even when reinstalling the game the same crash after the introduction trailer to the game.
I don't know if you guys have seen a similar problem before, but do you have any suggestions at all as to why even after the reinstallation the same problem occurs. As aforementioned the game is fully legal.

If there is a corrupt save, it could make your game crash, therefore you could have the same problem.
Uninstalling the game will not delete the saves. The easiest way to check if the problem comes from the saves is renaming or moving the save folder.
The save folders are here: my documents\pcm2011\users\your name\database\solo\ |

I tried this by removing all files from the solo folder to a new folder on the desktop. This did however not work and the game still crashes at the same time just after the introduction trailer.
Perhaps a have to clean up my registry database and reinstall it afterwards although that would imply that I use another activation key? |

No, the registry cannot get corrupt or at least that would not make your game crash.
Here the full instructions how to reset your game, copied from the official forum:
Reset the settings of Pro Cycling Manager 2011:
(Beware, it will erase your progress if you don't make a copy of the folder named Users)
A. My documents
1. Click Windows Start button and click My Documents or Documents.
2. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
3. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
B. Roaming folder
1. Open Computer then Local Disk (C.
2. Open Users folder.
3. Open your username folder.
4. Open AppData folder (*)
5. Open Roaming folder.
6. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
7. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
(*) Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default.
Here is how to make it visible:
Open the Folder Options by clicking the Start button and click Control Panel.
On the Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization and click Folder Options.
On the Folder Options, click on the View tab.
Under the Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders and click Ok.

Thank you so much Lachi. This was really useful and I would have had to spend very long time finding out about this on my own.
Apparently the problem was somewhere in the roaming folder because the game did not stop crashing before I removed that. |

Very funny indeed, and to make it even more funny, there is an option and I forgot to uncheck it.
@Humlesnur:
If the problem came from the roaming folder, then you can restore the files in My documents. (In case you made a copy of it and want to continue your career) |
