Played the demo its alright I guess, but most importantly, Marshall Faulk is on the HOF Edition Cover, and so I must get that version. Plus I will get an Authentic and autographed Trading card of Faulk.
Who actually wants Hillis on the cover anyway?
Is anyone getting it on release day?

I might get it. I had Madden 10 and 11, so I'm thinking about it. I want to read some reviews though, so probably not getting it right away

Don't care about the HOF cover as the furshest my NFL meomries go back is Adam Vinnetari Kicking a field goal for New England in the superbowl. I am a big fan of franchise mode on the game though so i will definatly be getting the game |

I got it, it's fun.
I managed to screw up in my first pre-season game and finished it up 7-0.
But my 2nd I did better 7-17. A win is always nice.
Cut days is a nice addition. Commentary is worse than normal, but they are redoing that next year, so thats OK.

It must not be that amazing if you came here and told us how it was after 2 pre-season games Plus who cares about pre-season anyway!
How is the actual gameplay? Realistic? Fun?
I might wait until November or Christmas to get it, hopefully the price will have gone down by then.

Actually, pre-season matters in Madden 12.
It's up to you to sort out rosters and what not. Very cool.
Gameplay is much better than normal.
Presentation is excellent.
Commentary is dire, but then again, it's Madden.
Also, I played more than 2 pre-seasons, a few exhibitions before that to get to grips with everything.

I just played the game at my friends house, won 28-21 with the Ravens. The gameplay was quite good and it is a step up from Madden 11. The tackling is much better and I agree with Doddy that the commentary seemed to have gotten worse. I won't be buying it because I already have 11 and I can't buy these games every year, but it looks like its worth it for someone who hasn't owned a newer one.

I usually go and get Madden every other year. So my last madden was 2010. But I think I'll get 13 with the new commentary engine.
Madden has needed this for yeaaarrssss.

I didn't really plan to get Madden 12 but I downloaded the demo and I liked it. And having a bunch of old games laying around collecting dust I traded them all in for madden 12 today (released today in Sweden). I don't regret it one bit. I was still playing Madden 11.
So far I've done some superstar mode and I like it, it's still lacking a bit but it's improved since last year.
Haven't touched franchise mode yet, I'll start that tomorrow evening. But from what I've read of what they've changed it will be pretty sweet.
I would say if you liked Madden 11, you'll like this years edition too. Never got into franchise on 11, so I can't really comment on the changes and added things but they're supposed to be really really big. |

@Nasder: Has the depth improved in superstar mode, because in the madden 10 version their was no depth and the only thing you really did was play the games week to week with no goals to complete or interactions with coaches/fans/or anything. All you did was collect stats that you couldn't put any value on. (And one thing that bugged me was you always started first string.) Has any of that changed?

I've played like no superstar, but the stat distribution is improved from trailers I've seen.
You can assign where your guy progresses.

The interaction is still very low in Superstar mode. You can request a trade... That's it.
The stats have improved. You get skill points during training camps and games and these are yours to spend as you please. But other than that it's still quite repetitive.
In previous series you didn't feel or see the improvements you made. But now when you get to select what you want to improve you notice the difference. The WR I am playing, I am currently spending almost all I get on speed. I'm fast as hell but got lousy hands for the time being. While this is a small thing on the paper, to me it's big.
More depth and interaction is what this mode lacks. I'd love to see interviews and other things that would boost my players ego but also other teams views upon the player. I would also love to have contract negotiations.Which would make it more fun once your contract runs out. Haven't reaches that yet in Madden 12 so maybe it's different from before where you get a list of 3-4 teams with your salary next to it to pick from. That's on my wishlist for future releases of Madden. |

@Nasder: Thanks for the info. And with that being said I think I'm not going to buy madden this year because I can live with the franchise mode and graphics present on the 2010 version. Perhaps next year ... just not enough improvements for me to spend the money.

Just played my first season game in franchise with Raiders. A thrilling high score game against the Broncos, that I won 9-7 . Janikowski with a 56 yard decider in the final seconds.
