Dear all,
I modified the PCMDaily2011 database. Wanted to share the work, feel free to ask questions. @Crue, if this isn't allowed, please remove the post. And if you want the more info, of course this is available.
* As stated in the topic header this contains all the current NC's (no riders are added, only the riders that are in the PCMDaily DB. and only the races up until now are taken in account. f.e. Devolder is still the NC ITT because this race is still scheduled.
* Also modified; deleted Ricco from the DB (rider and the connection to the rider_id in the palamares-cyclist table) and removed Mosquera from the Vacansoleil team (personal preference).
* Last thing altered is the popularity attribute. I've created a mapping of the riders in the DB and the CQ Ranking site. I've created an weighted average of the last 3 years and deducted a percentage (weighted in correlation to the ending of the last suspension) 1000 points for dopers. Max popularity = 85

Also for those who are using full editor v4 and you want to edit the the gene_i_champion_bit column but you're confused by the notation's; here's the guide.
title | points | Current World Champion Road Race | 128 | Current World Champion Individual Time-trail | 64 | Current National Champion Road Race | 32 | Current National Champion Individual Time-trail | 16 | Former World Champion Road Race | 8 | Former World Champion Idividual Time-trail | 4 | Former National Champion Road Race | 2 | Former National Champion Individual Time-trail | 1 |
But you can only enter 1 value, so add the values if a rider has more titles. so Cancellara as of 01.01.2011 had; WC ITT, former WC ITT, former RR and former ITT; 64 + 4 + 2+ 1 = 71
and now has; WC ITT, NC RR, former WC ITT, former RR and former ITT; 64 + 32 + 4 + 2+ 1 = 103
now for the catch (and no I won't explain you the basics in binary calculations), but if the total sum is above 128, then deduct 256 from the total.
So, for Thor Hushovd who is WC RR, NC RR, former RR and former ITT; so the total would 163, but its higher then 128 so it will be 131 - 256 = -93
in my db; WC RR, former RR and former ITT; 131 - 256 = -125
hope it helps.

Well the game uses popularity as in relation to results. So riders popularity goes up in 2012 if he gets good results. And will decrease if the results are lacking.
That's why I used the cqranking points from the last 3 years 2008, 2009, 2010 and results up until now and calculate an weighted average. The results are used to calculate the attribute. |

I will update the DB (with the NC of the Belgian ITT) and will post the Excel + Access calculations for the attribute that I used. Hoping to get some feedback on it, in order to improve even further. |

Posted the top100 again, only this time with the original DB value with it. There are some big changes, but I don't know how the original value was created. f.e. Boonen had 84. Also the CQ points are shown, showing a big gap between the top and rest of the top. below the 500 CQ points the intervals decrease.

factor = -1000+Round(Now()-[enddate.doping]) if larger than 0 then 0.
The avg CQ + the dopingfactor go into a formula to calculate the popularity;
Round(IIf( [points]-500>0
; IIf( [points]-500>1500
; 85
; (70+([points]-500)/100)
)
; 70*([points]/500)
)
;0)
hoping to get feedback in order to make the calculations better.

it's downloaded 4 times, so not that many players are interested in the current national champions. guessed other wise, but OK. For those who did downloaded it. What do you think about the new popularity, is it better or worse than the original? |

I think it sounds like a great idea (the thing about popularity), and I had to do the 2011 champions myself sooner or later - so for one, I'm happy |

I think it is because most people have started careers already, but it definitely is good work

Thanks, you're probably right. I did it for myself and wanted to share the work. So no harm done when only a couple of people have enjoyed it. (That's more then when I would have kept it to myself) |

Not something for this thread, but ok.
Did you open the savegame while the game was still running?
Normally, you edit the db, save and done. maybe you edited in the wrong folder? |
