Moth races are very similar, although the slight climbs in Race2 seems to have chased away some of the sprinters, Davis, Kennaugh and Arashiro all dropping out.
Everyone else is backing a sprint though, and Bennati is the massive favourite both times, can he get the better of Davis this time around. Cavendish vs. Kennaugh will also be an interesting battle as they have been on the same team for so long. After that there are plenty of bit part sprinters looking to surprise with a decent placing.

All the CT's top sprinters are here
Don`t you count Vantomme to the CT top sprinters?
As in Down Under I forgot to send him here as I have thought the stage would be hillier.
Good luck for all other teams.

All the CT's top sprinters who aren't to busy swimming in a pool of their own money will be here
better?

Nice to see the CT2 teams mixing it up with the CT field, maybe one can pull off a result from a breakaway

Much better, It`s a nice freetime activity, but slowly Vantomme misses the action of cycling races. |

Hoping for a good result in both so that, I can do well in the Asian Tour Rankings!
I'm looking forward to what Kwok can do for Meiji as a lead-out man, and also as a rider for the breakaways.
And welcome CDiv2 Teams!

Very important races for Oz Cycling.. hope for Cooke and maybe a podium Good news, that roturn didn't send Vantomme Davis is for sure the top-favourite with his season-start.
Edit: And Bennati...

I was also going to protest against the statement that all the top sprinters are here. Greipel is not. And he's one of the best (when he actually performs).

Greipel isn't even in the top ten. Although of that top ten, only half are here, so I did overstate the case a little.

Classic media hyperbole No one would tune into a race if the review said 'a few of the best riders are here, but others had better things to do, like bathe in money.'

Kennaugh's only sprint classic of the season. If he fails, at least it will prove I made the right decision. If he wins, thats good too

'bit part' sprinters Brown and Sutton etc are looking to sneak in a top 5 or so anything near a podium would be a success.
Seriously though looks like Cav + Kennaugh + Davis + Bennati going to fighting this one out.

WooHoo let the games begin! My team is very happy to be a part of Mumbai Cyclothon 2

American Express (AMEX) was very pleased to have received a wildcard ticket into the Mumbai Cyclothon 2. Since we are a team built around our climbers we are surprised to be joining the CT's best sprinters. Yet when the "Gods of Cycling" call your name you quickly respond - YES were are ready. I think there is a country song that says "What were they thinking?"
As our best sprinter is probably the 40th best on the grid, AMEX has chosen to bring our two best riders on the hills - Carlos Alberto Ospino a veteran of both the CT and PT and Tareq Esmaeli a veteran of the CT, in hopes we can earn some points on the hills.
The young (23) German rider Rudiger Selig is our best sprint hope, but with no other fast men to set him up, Selig will be on his own to catch a wheel. |
