Graphics Card
2-4-1
The new laptop on which I'm playing PCM 11 has NVIDIA Optimus technology with an Intel HD GPU & a more powerful NVIDIA GeForce GT555M.

The point of the Optimus technology is that it will automatically switch between the 2 to give the best power consumption but also the best graphics, when needed, such as when gaming.

I've only been playing PCM 11 for a few hours but I noticed that the graphics weren't set at very high levels & the game said it was using the Intel HD rather than the GT555M. When I tried to improve the graphics settings the game reset them, saying that the GPU I had wasn't good enough for the graphics I wanted & as a result, although the game runs smoothly, with good cyclist, bike & general race related graphics, it has no buildings, spectators, etc.

If the GT555M was in use, I could set the graphics to high levels.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem & knows how to remedy the problem. Or are there are any known issues with PCM 11 & NVIDIA Optimus?

Again jseadog1 Wink

2-4-1 when you make changes to the settings in-game, there should be a box that you can check, called "force graphic options". Once you check that, all your settings should stay.

I think he is hinting at the fact, that you are not really giving any answer. If you don't know the solution, then don't reply to the question.

Perhaps because he is right? You are making an awful lot of useless posts, and I for one fail to see the reason. If you don't have anything useful to say, then just don't say anything.
A high postcount is not the same as being a respected member.

@2-4-1:
In the graphic options, you can select "force graphic options". After you have done it, then raise the other graphic options and start your game again.
This will force the game to use the higher options and maybe finally force your computer to use the NVidia chip.

Thanks for the advice but if I were to do this but my machine continued to use only the Intel HD GPU not the more powerful NVIDIA one, could it cause problems such as overheating, etc?

No, the game will just starting to stutter. (and eventually crash if you do not quit it through the ESC key)
