Why is it, that is impossible to transfer a rider to your own team if this rider has a contract one or more years from now? It was possible in the old games (2005, 2006) and it also says in the game manual for 2011 that you can. But the game simply tells you that he has a contract next year and you cannot contact him or his team.
Anyone who knows why it is made like this?
I play with dailys db if that has anything to do with it! |

In real cycling you cannot buy cyclist out of their contracts as in football (soccer) or other sports. It might happen rarely like with Cancellara but the game does not allow it.
Wait until the contract ends, then contact the cyclist. |

You can't buy anyones contract free in PCM 11. In my opinion that's a shame, but that's the fact (you couldn't do that in either 10,9 or 8, but I'm a bit in doubt if you could in 7)
EDIT: Little too late

Okey
But then why does it say directly in the manual that it can be done?

Because you are the only one who ever read the manual. (Cyanide and focus did not proof read it, apparently) |

Apparently, the manual hasn't been changed since the 2006 game. At least that's what I've heard. |

Yeah, I remember that now lol, you could actually pay transfer fees for riders with contract in those early versions |

That would be pretty good. In my career, I have a sponsor giving me shitloads of money, but the team is pretty average. Played a few seasons, and most of the good riders signed contracts that seemed to skip this season. Heaps coming onto the market next season, though
Maybe have a system where you could buy riders out of their contracts, paying a fee to the team who the rider is being bought from? The fee could be based on a similar system to the wages, being negotiated with the team, and the better the rider, the higher the fee. Of course, there could be a chance that the rider doesn't want to leave...
