Hi
I'm generally a PS3 gamer but have recently invested in a very good laptop with the intention of playing games that you cannot get on the PS3, one of those games being Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
My copy arrived in the post yesterday & all I've done so far is read the instruction manual, which was in the box.
I'm totally new to this series of games so I would appreciate some advice, please.
I would like the game to be as true to life as possible & I know there are various patches & databases out there to complement the original game so can anyone please give me an idea of what I should install & in what order, so that I can get the most realistic experience.
Any help would be appreciated particularly as I'm new to the game & I'm not a laptop/PC expert, although I know the basics.
Many thanks. |

Very basic stuff, in this order, I would patch the game to 1.0.4.4, the apply the Fix for that patch. Then Install PCMDaily's Expansion pack V1, and I would also Download an Editor.
Here are the links for ya:
Patch to 1.0.4.4 Will get your game up to speed.
Fix for patch 1.0.4.4 Fixes a money problem in the Patch
PCM Daily Expansion Pack V1 Corrects team names, rider names, adds teams, riders, equipment, tours, stages, and more.
PCM Fast Editor Allows you to edit most of the game.
Instructions for how to install and use these should also be provided in the link.
I would also favorite PCM Daily, as there is always tons of other features going on, from people making custom jerseys and equipment to the long running management game (which I would like to get in on, but won't start a new season for some time).

Hi Kentaurus/anyone else who can help.
You'll have to excuse me but, as I said previously, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to installing things on laptops & PCs. Surfing the net, no problem but anything more.....
Anyway, I installed the game from the disc. Then I downloaded the Patch to 1.0.4.4, which went into the PCM 11 folder, which was created on my Crive when the game installed. I then downloaded the Fix for patch 1.0.4.4, which also went to that folder.
I then downloaded the PCM Daily Expansion Pack V1 from Multiupload.com because to download normally through FlashGet would've taken hours! All 5 parts downloaded but when I came to open them so that they could be installed, only Part 1 could be opened. That installed but the other 4 parts were an unrecognised program.
However, when I looked in the PCM 11 folder on the Crive, all 5 parts were showing under a title 'V1', although all with the 'blank square' to the left of the file names but there was also a folder titled 'PCMdailyExpansionPackV1.cdb', in the main PCM 11 folder.
My question is, has the Expansion Pack downloaded correctly?
I've yet to download PCM Fast Editor. I wanted to get the Expansion Pack sorted out first. |

First. Have you also installed the patch 1.0.4.4? Or just moved it into the game folder. Just to make sure there is no problem with this.
And with the DB, just the first is clickable. The others must be in the same folder, then they are installed automatically, when clicking the first.
You then must choose the ...V1.cdb in your options before starting the career. |

It does not matter where you put the downloaded patch and the expansion pack files. These are installers, so you have to run them (double click the exe file to install them.
You have to put the "Fix for Patch 1.0.4.4" into the game folder manually (read instructions)
You do not need the editor to play the game. |

Get 7zip, (better than Winrar or any other compressing program IMO), just google 7zip should be easy to find and use.

Without wishing to sound stupid, how will I know that the PCM Daily Expansion Pack is working? Is it a simple matter that if, after a race, the newspaper is L'Equipe, as opposed to Cyanide News.
The reason I ask is that I selected the Expnasion Pack in the opitions menu & 'ok'd' it but when I went back into the options menu it showed the default database was in use. |

The game has a bug with the DB selection.
Select the DB and don't check back but start the career immediately.
Check the amount of teams to make sure that you use the correct DB. |
