this is an idea that has been done before so thought i'd start a similar thread for 2010.
lots of people start careers but don't want the hassle of starting a whole story. this thread gives you the opportunity to keep us updated on how your career is going without having to go into too much detail. you might want to tell us about a certain achievement, report a single stage or give a general overview of your whole season, grand tour or smaller stage race.
Is there any way to maybe make this thread a sticky so it stays at the top of the forum?
also, if anyone has an idea for a better name for the thread then let me know and i'll change it.
cheers

I recently completed my first season with Euskaltel (PCM Expansion, but pre 1.03 patch) and had a successful year:
TdF ended with the same 4 riders at the top, but in a different order:
1. A Schleck
2. A Contador
3. D Menchov
4. S Sanchez
So 4th place wasn't bad for me there.
Sami also won the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and one of the Ardennes classics (can't remember which one), and also the Classico San Sebastian just after the end of the Tour.
Igor Anton finished 2nd in the Vuelta, behind Denis Menchov, who had a brilliant season! Igor also won the Tirreno Adriatico and the Vuelta Burgos.
Romain Sicard managed a flukey victory in the Volta a Catalunya, after winning a breakaway stage by 2 minutes, and then limiting his losses in the following stages to scrape through with the win
Finally Koldo Fernandez won about 7 stages through the course of the season, en excellent season for him.
Overall, a very good first season, and very enjoyable too!
I've since patched up to 1.03 and have started a custom season as Credit Agricole (using all the jerseys from my PCM08 folder ). I've chosen out of contract riders to make up the 16 man squad, with the exception of Nicolas Roche, who is my main leader.
So far I'm nearing the end of March, and Roche has finished 4th in the Paris_Nice (wildcard entry) and has won the Tour Mediterranean, and Diego Milan won the Etoile Besseges as well. Apart from that I've had the odd one-day victory here and there adn some good podiums, so my sponsors are happy. Next big goal is the Criterium International, where I need to get a Top 10 place (Roche is my leader for this).
Having a fun time, and am going to keep on with this save until the next patch, after which I might re-start Credit Agricole or play with a Pro-Tour team (maybe Garmin)

no, I've had no problems at all with frames in my careers. Good luck with Euskaltel! |

Just want to put something about the some remarkable transfers in my carreer here.
So, i did some very realistic transfers for my team (see story section), while Astana went all-out and singed Contador (resigned), Nibali, F. Schleck, Hagen, Di Luca Valverde, L.L Sanchez, Arroyo, Zubeldia and Albasini <.<. They did lose Vino to Saur, who also signed Sagan and Arversen .

I've just begun with Lampre, to get a feel for them before the next patch.
Sponsors have asked that i:
Win Milano-Sanremo
Finish as leading sprinter in the Tirreno and the Tour, which seems doable with Petacchi.
Furthermore i'm hoping for Simon Spilak in the Giro, and Cunego with be riding the ardennes, a GT and the WC hopefully. Also Lorenzetto should be good for a couple of wins during the season.
Development is quite interesting on this team, Bole, Spilak, Pozi and Grenedene are a solid base for results in coming seasons.
Lampre actually looks sort of challenging. There's a big gap from Cunego, Spilak and Petacchi to the next tier of riders.. should be well fun =) |

Yeah I hope it doesn't either. Just started a custom career and I want to start a story with them tommorow but if not I have to go back and choose the same riders all over again. Will take me like 20 minutes extra. (Yeah I'm lazy. ) |

I was playing a career with Colnago - CSF Navigare using the PCMDaily DB and the latest patch. In spring I won some small races preparing for the Giro d'Italia. Yeah, and as I started the Giro there where no big names, except Menchov, Garzelli and Scarponi.(There was also Nibali, but he crashed.) So I tried to win the Giro, not just the climbers jersey with Pozzovivo. And at the end?...
I won the Giro with Pozzo plus points plus climbers jersey... Brilliant, but even unrealistic(thanks to the AI) i thought and invested my money into some new scouts and trainers. Now I'm near the end of the season... and totally out of money.
Considering the fact, that the new patch is yet to be released, I will end thatone, and start a new one when sprints are more realistic...
But Colnago - CSF Navigare is definitly funny and interesting to play with. |

Im coming to the end of Feb with Cervelo, Ive had some good results so far, Haussler won TDU, ive had a few top 10s with Sastre and Tondo, some good stage wins with Bos and Hushovd, for a team preparing towards the Giro, I consider them good results, got Omloop, Kurrne, Lugano and Almeria before I start the PN.

I've installed the new patch and carriedon with the Credit Agricole career.
Nic Roche won the Criterium International, and I've received wildcard entries to the Dauphine and Tour de France. I also received wildcards for the Paris Nice and Ardennes classics!
At the end of May we were the best placed CT team in the CQ rankings, were leading the CT rankings, and Nic Roche is leading the individual CT rankings |

Played a quick game of pcm10 without any of the patches/databases etc (building a new computer tomorrow so i couldn't be bothered downloading everything...)
created the ONCE team once again for a bit of fun....all random custom riders from Australia except a Russian TT'er and Spanish climber.
Competed in the Australian RR and came 1st - 7th. Pretty much what I did was put my whole team on attack from the start and no one chased me down. There was a chase breakaway about 2 minutes behind, but I ended up beating everyone by around 25 minutes. Was amazing haha. 238km team break away. SUCCESS!
All my riders had stats at about 60. No one had anything above 63. Played it on Normal as well!

My Career so far:
Difficulty: Hard
DB: PCM Daily Expansion Pack V2
In February with HTC, about to go to Tour of Omen.
Came 2nd with Rogers in TdU, and won the sprints jersey with Griepel. Won Mountains jersey with Siutsou and Young Riders Jersey with Goss. Picked up 3 victory in the TdU.
At Tour of Qatar, won GC, points jersey and yound riders jersey with Cav. Won 4 stages, and came 2nd in the TTT (which is something I was impressed with, as I never have been able to do them until I found a video tutorial on youtube )
Same team from Qatar is going to Omen, and I will look for same results.
