Corsics provides a variation of stage types in just 2 days of racing, with a mountain stage, a flat stage and a time trial. Can a climber gain enough on the mountains to put them out of reach of competition, or will it come down to a time trialist winning, having limited their losses on the climb.
Theres plenty of star riders, as the startlist shows, including Ricco, Taaramae, Serpa and Evans.

Hmmm, didn't quite calculate Taaramae in my plan, although the TT is more like a 'prologue', i'm thinking about 10+s time loss. I'm hoping for Ricco to keep attacking on that climb and distance Taaramae or distance him in the sprint, which could also be possible due to a higher sprint and stamina stat.
Or i could be screwed by PCM .

Not many points to get here either. Hope Eltink can do a very good first stage, but it´s going to be hard to get a good result with this startlist. Maybe a breakaway on stage 2 by Sörensen and Stevenson are our best hope. |

Greipel and Paulinho. Two riders with a chance to do good.

Its surely all about the climb on the first stage here. Taaramae and Lloret will be following the wheels - Taaramae has Alarcon here talk about a superdomestique.
But a seriously loaded field here with 4 of the very best climbers there are. I would say Ricco has to drop Taaramae and outsprint Serpa at least to win this.
Stage 2 reeks of one of those disorganised downhill sprints. Then a short TT, should be a cracking race. |

Solid results for Stetina and Peterson. Stetina will lose time in the TT, so hopefully Peterson can move up.

Hopefully Rohregger can time-trial into the top 10. Now time to see if Vaitkus can do something

Seemingly, Taaramae doesn't count as a favorite to counter nowadays.

Cobo, at least you performed roughly at expectation rather than below it like every one else.

Petronas with numerous good climbers made that pay by getting Ortega in the break. Bacardi and Ikea don't really have the squads to chase it down and it was left to Pirelli to chase it. The calculation were not correct and subsequently both Serpa and Ricco surely are going to miss a podium.
Will the 9km TT be enough to change GC? It should be close because Taaramae is better than Evans who is better than Ortega. I would probably just about give Evans the edge for overall over Taaramae with Ortega just squeezed out into 3rd. But that Yellow or will it be pink jersey can work wonders.

Damn it Serpa, what a way to show your team mates respect for all the work they had done! As Smowz says then the chance for Serpa moving up to the podium is non-existing. I hope he can manage to beat Ricco though and end as fourth.

What an epic stage. Extremely happy with Evans, its good to see some success again for the team.
This is going to come down to the wire, but i think Ortega might just hold on, Evans doesn't have much over him other than recovery. Its good to see the team with more depth beating the superstars though!

Hmm, 3th by Kocjan, a good result and 5th by Ricco, which gives him the point jersey.
How many points are given for the winner of the TT? 25 again?

Fairly surprising a good success for Youtube whose stage racers (Tachira withstanding) have not been too the fore as yet.
I though the sharpish downhill to the finish may dicate and so it proved with McCallum slightly better downhill then other sprinters led to better positioning.
I guess I have to eat humble pie this is what I said about Youtube's victor in my preview:
this team have not got anything for field sprints Britain's James McCallum is not up to quality
as opposed to this about one of the other sprinters here:
STOP PRESS: and a late signing of Andre Greipal corrects the no sprinter policy - Greipal will no doubt be latching on to others trains and will give Bbox a great chance of consistent high finishes
The problem was Griepal was latched onto his own train (and others behind that!) |

Good stage by Rohregger, not enough though 1 sec on Alarcon, 10 sec on a really nice position. Anyway, good work by him

Not rly happy with this race. Well, it's a good result, but not what it should have been. Ow well, can't complain compared to bad luck of some others this season. Good reporting!
Looking forward to Spain now with Kirchen.
