Fun Fact: Wine is this regions main product, but Pauillac used to produce oil! It was a huge business actually. Now the town promotes wine tourism.

Mind you, not all of those time trials were after the mountains were all done.

Also, Cancellara's dead from 3 weeks. He might be beatable.

Exactly. He never won one of these "late" Tour time trials, did he?

Also Petacchi says he's been sick for days now and has no idea how he finished in the pack yesterday, let alone got 3rd.

He thinks it's likely he won't finish inside the time cut today, or if he does, he's not sure he can sprint tomorrow.

Hushovd in green? Cavendish in green?

I hope he does carry on. It'd be a shame to see him outside the time limit today. The green jersey competition is going to be very exciting tomorrow.

Petacchi has finished
29. PETACCHI Alessandro 208 LAMPRE - FARNESE 01:07:50 00:06:54

Put it this way, there's a lot of guys behind him. Including Mark Cavendish and Thor Hushovd actually.

I feel that might be, luckily I mean, just a play for the gallery. Smile

And he has finished in front of both Hushovd and Cavendish, 6,54 behind Cancellara, so if he's outside the time limit, neither is Cavendish or Hushovd Pfft

First real test for Cancellaras time is Gutierrez.

Haha Gutierrez?

Are you kidding me? When is the last time Gutierrez did a world class time trial.
Tell me.

doddy13
you can't bet against Cancellara winning the stage. The big test will be Contador who himself can turn in a great TT. Would be great to see our tour winner win a stage.

No, but with Contador as tired as he is (it's his third form peak this year), I doubt anyone can take it from Cancellara, since Martin couldn't do it.

This TT is all about power.

EDIT: Well....he did win if you discount Schumacher Pfft

He was just 3 seconds down on Contador last year in the final TT too, which was about half a week before Paris.
But he did think Contador had help from cars, maybe he had a point.

WTF Vansummeren? That's odd. Reminds me of that bonehead moment by Froome 4 years ago at the Worlds
