Im using Windows Vista, dont care what anyone says, it doesnt suck. The only thing is, is that it requests alot of RAM.

Vista does not suck. If you got a proper pc. Else it will run slow. People are complaining becuse its not as fast as xp And the updates are slow....... |

People complain due to the reputation it has. I agree that it has become a lot better now, especially if you turn off UAC.
That said, I have moved on to Windows 7 Professional (used a wide-spread internet trick to get it for 19 $). Feels much like Vista - at times, I actually think that Vista is better. Performance-wise, Windows 7 is better, though. |

Given that the college I went to has a partnership with Microsoft I get all of them for free. Haven't tried 7, but between Vista and XP I use XP.
Because both times I installed Vista it worked fine for 3 or 4 months....then suddenly decided to blow up completely for no reason and force me to format the primary disk.

Just got a new laptop and am running vista for the first time. Dislike how all the names have changed but as I don't use my computer for much it doesn't really seem to matter

Linux for gaming? Dream on
Edit: Yes, support has gotten better, but there's still a very long way to go.

I always hated linux. Don't know why. I always liked Windows so far and haven't had any major issues

I use vista and xp, vista is good once you get control of it but it is still annoying at times.
If i have enough of my capped internet usage at the end of the month i am planning to download ubuntu onto my laptop so i can try it out and compare to vista.

I'm satisfied with the setup I have, no need to change just for the sake of changing. |
