You don't need a whole team to protect one rider... He's 4th in the GC, no reason to ride at the front, but please call me a moron for finding someone arrogant, please go on! |

I am sorry, you definitely know it better than WT riders and DS's.

You dont even need an excuse to be riding at the front, but that is certainly more than enough to qualify someone to be riding there. Someone is going to have to be at the front, its how a peloton works.
I dont see how you can think riding at the front is arrogant at all. If anything, attacking is more arrogant, and how frowned upon is that again in cycling? In fact, I may be wrong here, but attacking is actually encouraged...

I guess I see your logic.
I think Kelderman is very arrogant as he hasn't experienced the obligatory dutch meltdown syndrome like Gesink, Kruijswijk and Mollema. Maybe tomorrow? |

Anybody know where I can find a video of stage 16? Youtube and Google are giving me nothing.
Thanks in advance. |

Funny how we all talk about Monte Grappa and Zoncolan, but that last climb tomorrow is brutal with high, consistent gradients. I hope Nairo will shut the ppl up who says the Giro is won by the the organization |

Okay, so after two days of my computer crapping out and missing what was clearly the most dramatic stage of the Giro, I think I'm caught up.
So first off, I'm now entirely in the (small) group of people that think the Vuelta and Giro need to swap dates, I'm really tired of seeing the Giro have some sort of official decision to make every year, from cutting stages short, taking out climbs, or now neutralizing a descent. Spain is gorgeous right now, and Italy is wonderful in August and September.
Secondly, to the teams that missed out (including BMC). I understand that something was said, however if you are Evans, or Uran, or anyone who deems themselves a contender, if Quintana goes, you go and let the race organizers sort it out later.

Then stop complaining and don't watch
Sure I just stopped and you wont hear me complain anymore. Never been a fan of Giro, this years edition hasnt made it any better at all.
I would bet you will be still watching if Uran was still in pink.
I am glad that bullshit DSs tried was not possible, that would ruin the race a bit for me. (btw. Unzue agreeing means he is sure thta Nairo will kill it anyway).

none of the riders did anything wrong, and as such, its very hard to find a good reason to punish any of the riders. the organizers did however screw up royally, and they should be punished.
you dont fix a fuck up by screwing over the people who gained from it, you fix it by making it up to the people who got hurt by it.
in my opinion, the giro this year was decided by the organizers and not the riders, and as such history books should show no rankings at all as an eternal memory of what happens when you forget to think. and the organizers should have their profits from this years giro taken away from them and divided amongst those who lost from this.
In one sentence, you are saying thoise who gained from it should not be screwed and in other you would left Giro without results? Does not make sense to me. Also dont forget that Giro is not over, so dont judge winners and loosers...
At least admit that this sucks when Giro final results will be decided like this.
All riders have 2 hard weeks behind..and now this. Scandal!
Believe me there was riders in that peloton who would have descended faster then Quintana..even worse weather
Of course i would be glad to see that NOT happening, but it happened and i think you are going a bit too far Guido with saying those teams should leave the race. We still dont know if Movistar broke any rules, written or unwritten...

I found Rolland a bit arrogant today, riding with his whole team behind Movistar. I mean, why the fuck would you do that if your 4th in the GC??
How is that arrogant? He is high in the GC and him and his team are up near the front, good riding from Europcar and not arrogant
There is no reason to ride with the whole team in my opinion. Just seems arrogant to me. You don't see Majka or someone riding like that. It's unnecessary in my opinion.
Are you serious? you should go, grab a dictionary and find a word "arrogance" there. You obviously dont know the meaning of that word.

Why all the fuss over Rolland and Europcar riding up the front behind Movistar again? I've noticed numerous other teams doing exactly the same thing with practically their entire team over the course of the two and a bit weeks.
Stage 17 was a bit of a unique situation with none of the other teams really helping out with the chase, so the fact someone had their team camped behind the current race leader's team was just more obvious than it has been on other stages.

Time to move on from the endless over-inflated debate about the descent...
Today's stage should be quite interesting, to separate who's got an attacking mentality and feeling good and who's just waiting for Friday and Saturday. The climb today cannot be underestimated - 16km @ 8%, with sections of 14%.
Also interesting to note is that it's an extension of the climb to Vetriolo Terme used in last year's Giro del Trentino which saw some decent gaps looking at PCS results (can't put them here for some reason) and so it's a good opportunity for those fighting for a podium place to try and establish a bit of a gap between each other ready for tomorrow and Saturday.
In other news, looks like Diego Ulissi DNS today.

No I wouldn't even if Uran was the rider that benefited from this bullshit. Seems like I'm getting labelled as a OPQS fanboy who is throwing his toys out of pram whenever anything goes wrong for OPQS.
Well I'm gonna say don't judge others by your own standards. |

OGE down to Tuft and Hepburn. Just the pair you'd want before 3 brutal stages.

Must be starting to get kinda lonely. They might start looking pretty good to eachother...
How can it feel to be part of a race and being only two guys left? It must be kinda surreal.

If Quintana was willing to risk his life flying down that mountain then let him. He took the risks and they paid off, that's what life is about.
If you don't like it then we would all be happy if you left. Watch it or don't. Just please stop complaining.
