54.526km for Wiggins
First thought: Disappointing
Second thought: Martin will break this
The main reason he didn't break 55 was the weather conditions, air pressure plays a big part in events like this and with what the air pressure was in London on Sunday it's been suggested by more than a few before the attempt it would take 650 plus metres off what he could achieve. Also Martin might beat this time but I doubt it unless he does it at altitude or spends a lot of time learning how to ride the track correctly, I think Dowsett will top this attempt by Wiggins and then we will see if Wiggins has another crack at it.

Dowsett who Wiggins just smashed by 1.589km? Yeah somehow i don't think so unless Alex goes full r*tard on the focus, which he won't do because he's a road racer and not a track racer aiming at the Olympics.

Well from everything I read and have heard from people since Dowsetts attempt is that he can go faster than he did by a good margin, I'm not saying he smashes Wiggins record but I certainly think he can go faster than Wiggins did on Sunday. If Dowsett had done his attempt at London instead of Manchester he would of gone a fair amount faster than he did.

Certainly Alex would have been quicker in London than Manchester. I think he can get well into the 53km range and push the 54km if he has a good day. But it's not just a little bit he has to make up on Wiggo, it's 1.5km and that's a lot of distance. Expecially as Wiggo practically has another 600m in bag just in weather conditions, so call it 2km to set a record that's hard to beat... No way can a road focused rider like Alex make up that gap to Wiggins who's only going to get better on the track as Rio approaches.

Another win for Ewan, winning the sprint from a reduced peloton.

I really don't know why OGE is sending Ewan there. He isn't going to get any better racing against these guys.

He isn't, maybe just to get his confidence up with a few wins?

The entire team of Burgos abandoned before this stage. Apparently they had taken the wrong way to the start. The pack had waited for 15 minutes, but eventually decided to start without them.

He is at the point where he could be fighting for .1 wins in Europe though and those would mean a hell of a lot more to him.

I disagree. I think it's the right move for a young 20 year old. He is really growing in confidence this season with alle these wins no matter if they are from Asia or europe. Next year he is ready to challenge bigger european events.
For a sprinter confidence is everything, and confidence comes through winning. It's not like he haven't raced any european races in this season. Take Vuelta Catalunya, where he didn't do well, and the Tour de Fjords with two second places behind a strong Kristoff.
I think Orica is trying to giving him lessons in europe, while boosting his confidence with wins abroad. And with 7 victories already this season and a young guy that seems to have a lot of confidence atm. i think it's the right call.
He has beaten Guardini and Wouter Wippert so far this season, and been so close to winning against Kristoff, who is on fire this year. For a neo pro, i think thats a decent start

Ewan has Korean ancestry (this is the reason of his Asian look), that's probably why he is racing there.
