I don't understand why bigger teams don't try to send their riders in breakaways more often so that guys with no support like Costa would have to burn their energy.

Because if Costa does not chase they are screwed.

How? You still would have a rider in breakaway who could fight for win.

This is race where people care more about themselves than team, like olympics RR.

Now that's very subjective.

Why? We have seen thousands of time in WC, riders backstabbing national teammates, for their real team teammates. It is very well understood now.

Like Oscar Freire winning WC when his Mapei team Italian teammates, brought back Rebbelin from breakaway.
I will not waste my time typing. There was article on cyclingnews.com day before search and read.

Big article on BBC about Froome retiring https://www.bbc.co...g/24324341

There will be no more news about WC, who wins as Brits are not involved. Typical British mentality.

Yes, you just conveniently ignore the ongoing live text page they are doing!

I'm pretty sure he was in the middle of the peloton at last time check. Don't think he will have go, I think Belgium is all in for Gilbert.

All GB is gone (!). Half USA is gone ( i think only stetina left). Australia gone (except Clarke), most favorites still in peloton.
