I hope you can win that next stage in the WC jersey and take the green jersey back

@all: First of all, apologises again for a delayed report / continuation of the story. Just no time these days to sit down and relax with PCM. Thanks for the comments. Hoping Cav can make it four wins from 4 sprints.

20th February 2012 - Tour of Oman
(Qurayyat - Mattrah Seafront)
The final stage of this year's Tour of Oman looks like one for the sprinter's. After a sharp rise at the beginning, it is all downhill and flat towards the finishing circuit around the Mattrah Seafront.
I won this stage last year, and will be looking to make it 4 wins from 4 sprints this year.
4km: The action got underway almost immediately, with a group of 7 riders attacking off the front.
6km: Saur Sojasun took instant control, making sure they held on tight to Lemoine's Red Jersey, aided in the chase but Skil and UnitedHealthcare.
8km: With the early break pulled, a second wave of riders went away, taking up the points on the short climb.
33km: Puncture for Pozzovivo! The Colnago-CSF rider hits a bit of trouble, but with his entire team dropping back, he is back in the main pack.
66km: Skil and Unitedhealthcare continued to control the peleton, giving the break a lot of freedom to run with.
89km: However, as we entered the finishing circuit in Mattrah, information came from the car that the break was getting too far in front. With only 70km remaining, it's lead was over 8'42".
142km: Dan Martin, Lars Bak and Peter Velits injected some pace into the peleton, completely taking over at the front, and sure enough, the break was back within a reachable time.
152km: Everything was brought back together with 9km to go, as the three HTC guys got some help from Katusha and Saur. With 5km to go, the lead train was at full steam, and I was feeling good about the finish.
156km: Knowing the final sprint rose slightly before flattening, I waited for the other sprinters to make their moves. Lemoine went off first, closely followed by Rossi (Farnese-Vini).
157km: But like I expected, they faded on the small rise, and I burst through, just taking the win on the line ahead of Marcel Kittel, who had the same tactic as me at the end. Credit though goes to the team. Fabulous work today guys!

27th February 2011 - Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne
Like last year, I open my account on European soil in Belgium, at the Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne. I had a very mixed race last year, falling on the cobbles, before finishing 7th on the line.
This year, I want the win. After a great time in Oman, I am feeling good in the saddle and want to do the World Champions Jersey justice.
Bernard Eisel will lead the team on the road, and dictate how the team rides throughout the race, whilst Matt Goss, Alex Rasmussen and Bert Grabsch will form the lead out train at the end.
New Zealand Champion Hayden Roulston will be given a free role, looking at taking the pressure off the team by looking at getting in the break, along with neo-Pro Isaac Cote, who will play a similar role.
Gatis Smukulis completes the squad, and will work as a domestique throughout the day.

@PCM: Thanks a lot! 4 out of 4, but it was a close one this time around.
@Tovhol & Ste: Sorry it has been a long time since the last update. A busy start to the New Year, and after the Christmas break, it took a while to get into the swing of things, and getting the motivation back up for writing. But I am back now, hungrier than ever and ready to really progress with the story

Sky Boys on the move?
It may only be February, but that does not stop the 'Cycling Transfer Rumour Mill' from turning, and this time it has spat out two names from Sky ProCycling, in the form of Edvald Boasson Hagen and Geraint Thomas.
Boasson Hagen, second in the 2011 Tour de France Green Jersey standings, is apparently in early talks about a move to Farnese-Vini, whilst Thomas has had the cycling world drooling over the possibility of the ultimate Sprint Team, by joining fellow Brit Mark Cavendish at HTC-Highroad.
Sky Procycling obviously declined to comment on the situation, however, Thomas added fuel to the fire, stating it would be an honour to be part of HTC, and would love nothing more than leading out the 'Manx Missile' one day in a race other than the World Championships.
