Truth be told Contador cant be proud of this today, he should have controlled the race and gone on the attack long before when someone so close like Talansky goes on the attack.
A Nibali in form would also have been a huge threat.
Contador slept today but also his team, what a disaster, how can Riis send such a poor team with Contador to fight for Contador.
What a stage, and what a race in general. Dauphiné has been massively exciting the past week.
Superb racing by Contador & Talansky. Young American has been on the forefront throughout the week and has really shown guts and instinct. Garmin did an awesome job for him too, and large parts of the work by him. An unexpected, but great winner in my eyes.
Contador was just mind-wreckingly amazing. This run of his shows easily why is the most entertaining and my favourite rider in the bunch. His attitude is amazing.
Nieve rescues SKY's day, sorta. They tried to take the win with "Contador-tactics" and lots of relais stations. And it backfired in the hugest way imaginable. SKY and unpredictable tactics... it's just doesn't work out...
Oh, great interview by Talansky. Nice lad!

Because Saxo don't fucking care about winning this race. They only cared about beating Froome and that's what they fucking did by annihilating that Loch Ness beast.
“You put your whole life into something, the sacrifices, the training and it's the moments like this that make everything worth it,” Talansky says. “This is why we do this for moments like this.
Yup. Great lad.

I can understand you frustration looking at Froome perform so terribly.
Anyway Contador was looking at Froome as biggest threat and realized late that in fact Froome was empty.
Contador could not do much. Talansky was not the only guy. There was Bardet, Van den Broeck. So if they had attacked one after another, he could have just been chasing everyone and then ended up empty.

Riis and Saxobank should still have had a team which would have been able to control the race
Today Contador didn´t lose the race, it was Riis and his teammates who lost it for him.
Also again as i mentioned a win here and a 2nd in Tdf is better than no wins at all. Because you really think Froome wont be on top in the TdF

Yeah I do think that Contador right now has a better chance than Froome.
And a win in Dauphine for a rider like Contador means nothing. It's the riders like Talansky, who may never win a GT (especially Tour), for whom this win could be the biggest accomplishment in their career.

Why do you assume i like Sky? after all its not like i have made it clear that i can't stand that fake-british rider Froome and Team Sky who are more doped then Armstrong ever was and its not like Dave Brailsford is one of the more arrogant and despicable people in cycling today. or wait i think i just made that even more clear.
And yes Contador slept today but he is just 1 man, where the hell was his teammates, Saxo might have had a full roster but it was nothing but over the hill idiots who should be embarrassed to even call themselfs cyclists.
At this moment looking at everyone's performance looks like Contador and Froome are ahead of everyone. Then there are many others like Talansky, Van den Broeck. And Nibali is still further behind them.
Plus we have to see people in TdSuisse also.
And people like Valverde who is taking different approach altogether.

Of course, Tinkoff-Saxo boys were terrible today. They have done nothing throughout the race in the past week, and when it mattered today, even then they didn't do anything. Still, it is what is and it's alright.
Everybody knew Contador had a weak team and wasn't able to defend it on his own, so as a result, there was the greatest assault on a leader's jersey we have seen in a very long time. As a Contador-Fan and Fan of Cycling, I loved today's racing, and we wouldn't have got it with a strong Tinkoff team.
Another thought: Maybe this speaks to reduce team size in the peloton from 8 to 6 riders at max, 7 in GT?

Contador has a shot i will grant you that, but i am 100% sure that Team Sky´s doctors will make "sure" Froome and Porte is 100% fit for Tour De France and when the race is over and Contador is 2nd or 3rd.
This win would have been a nice addition to the points for the team.
But there is always next year and Oleg will hopefully have fired Riis and all of those over the hill riders (except of course Contador) that was apart of this years Dauphine.

This was TST team B. team A went to Td Suisse.
Anyway Paulinho and Hernandez should have stayed with him.
But remember at front there was 23 riders in break. Then about 15 climber attacked which other TST riders except Contador could not match. And it were riders like Nibnali, Kelderman, etc, so no surprise they could not go with them.

Mollema should be right up there behind Contador and Froome. And Valverde? I love what he did this season. If you look closely Valverde this year hasn't really ridden any races that had serious mountains, well if you don't count Andalucia where there weren't any Tour favorites and he also basically crushed everyone.
