So Ollfardh will send Nibali to Giro and probably win it |

I prefer a bit of realism in my startlists, so Flecha and Leukemans in Omloop seems a good idea. I'm still llooking for a balance though, I sent too many strong riders at some point, but I think that's not the case here. I'm definitely not going to send weak squads.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Nibali should be at the Giro (or Tour). It's not the WT races that are the problem, it's the smaller races.

There's realism, and then there's disadvantaging the players... Thankfully Leukemans sucks so it's only Flecha that could cause the problem

Flecha is a cobbler with history at Omloop, so you could have expected him. I'm not going to give managers an easy time because other teams are inactive. Vacansoleil gets punished in the rankings, but that shouldn't make the races easier for the rest.
As this is the first season, I'm still trying to find a balance. I know I made Katusha too strong at some points, but Flecha at Omloop is a reasonable decision in my opinion, especially when looking at the rest of the startlist. He won't appear in smaller races like Nokere, but this is the biggest CT race, so he has a place there.
Anyway, I'm glad that we have these discussions, although I don't want to go over every startlist. When we look at the upcoming WT races, I haven't made the final lists yet, but I was thinking of making a strong San Remo startlist with guys like Kristoff and Gasparotto. About Nibali, he's going to do at least 1 GT and I'll probably let him start in the Tirreno as well. Would that seem reasonable?

If I was doing it, I would send Nibbles to Tirreno, MSR, (possibly Romandie), Giro, Vuelta, Lombardia. You could send him to certain CT races as "form-builders" but with the raceday limit we had to use, it wouldn't really be fair if he turned up at Trentino for example.
For Purito, I'd go Tirreno, Pais Vasco, Ardennes, TDF, San Sebastian, Vuelta, Lombardia.
For the rest, just try to be realistic but also fair (maybe use a website like PCS to see what team they took in real life), bearing the raceday limit in mind.

Almeria startlist inserted, preview almost certainly tonight, race tonight or tomorrow.
Also, just to let you guys know, I have to report MSR as well, which is fine, but I'm not available the week after Christmas, so depending on how the season moves from now on, I might not be able to report it.

I said it before, unmanaged teams top riders (Nibali, Purito, Kristoff, Guardini, Flecha etc.) should only race WT. Doesn't matter how big the CT race is! Otherwise send Nibbles to AToC because it's the biggest CT stage race or Trentino as the biggest Italian CT stage race, it's the same logic.
Nibbles has a history at Trentino so i expect him to go there. Purito has a history in Burgos. etc.
Vacansoleil just confuses me... Either they are managed or not. Either they have manager created startlists or not. If they have those lists then they are used. If they don't then they have to follow the same rules as Katusha and Astana.
So are they using manager startlists, or your startlists? (this is not meant to be angry, i genuinely am confused)
And i still stand by my point that the players are the focus. Disadvantaging them by sending strong squads from unmanaged teams is unfair. To me it defeats the point of making the startlists if my team could do just as well without me spending an hour or two.
Nibali should do a GT and Tirreno if you want realism. But the GT is hard to decide. Giro is most real, but will also bring the team the most points. The Tour comes next, but it's the TDF and is important to most teams. The Vuelta is left is guess.
Purito suffers from the same sort of problem with decideing a GT, and i'd say the TDF because the Giro and Vuelta are so climbing focused.

Clásica de Almeria – Preview
Here we are, in Almeria, within the beautiful region of Andalucia. We’re here for the Clásica de Almeria, a 1.HC race in sunny Spain. Well, it’s early in the year, so we don’t know if it will be that sunny. Nevertheless, we’ll certainly be enjoying the race.
The Clásica de Almeria is traditionally a race for the sprinters, but in most editions, only for the sprinters that can take hills well. But with some strong puncheurs starting here, you never know how tough the race can be made.
Last year, Michael Matthews won this race, ahead of Borut Bozic. They’re both not here to defend their title though, so we’ll get a different winner.
This edition of Clásica de Almeria is 184km long. We travel from Almeria to Roquetas de Mar, which is, in fact, just a few km south-west of the city Almeria
The profile looks easy, but this isn’t necessarily a boring mass sprint. About 17km of climbing is not that much, but at least something. Not to mention that the sprint is slightly uphill. Strong teams might be able to drop sprinters over the hills. The highest point reached will be 514m.
A Theo Bos-type would probably not survive this race in the peloton. Though, ironically, he won this race a few years ago. That was back in the 1.1 category times, though, but my point was, a guy like Kennedy won’t survive.
The startlist is quite surprising. Some good sprinters for sure, but some teams, like Euskaltel & Movistar, have beastly puncheur teams. They could’ve looked at the race profile first, but well, they might be aiming to drop the fast men. That won’t be easy though, seeing Ciolek & Brouwer on the startlist. Both of them have great sprinting trains behind them as well.
As said, sprinters that can tackle hills at least decently will be the favourites today. If the pace is hard(which I wouldn’t expect though), a puncheur with a good sprint might win here. Brouwer & Ciolek are the obvious favourites.
W.Brouwer (BEL)
G.Ciolek (MTN)
J.J. Rojas (MOV)
K.Dehaes (LTB)
O.Gatto (VIN)
M.Guido (MTN)
L.L.Sanchez (BEL)

Oh sure, the best sprinter which is also the best puncheur of the available sprinters(unless you count Gatto). How dare I put him as a favourite!
Looks like another Brouwer v Ciolek, just like the last race I reported
(Mind you, I haven't played the race yet, so that's not a spoiler)

We have it as one of our season goals, so we decided to bring a strong team. Strong enough for the odd chance of the hills to turn hard/control things on the climbs. The men in orange should be very visible in this race!

Rojas 3rd favourite? One place too high
As a neutral, I'm gonna hope for a Lobato win. Or Ciolek.

Come on Brouwer!
And yes, I gave Katusha and Astana some weaker guys, but they had a few unlikely wins before..
