Café Pedro 7: Keeping Up With the Pedros
TheManxMissile
Has anyone been watching the Americas Cup? Team Oracle USA on the verge of sports greatest ever comeback!
Team Emirates New Zealand have been on Match Point for 7 straight races, with the USA having been 8-1 down in the first to nine event.

Added to that, the USA started with -2 due to a penalty from cheating conviction earlier in the year. AND that New Zealand were in the final leg of race 13, when it was abandoned...

Greatest Sorting Event i have ever watched live. Final race today, series tied at 8-8, at 1:15pm Pacific

Damn...
I watched a few of the early races, then stopped following it because it was such a blowout.

So, an 8000 square feet piramid was found close to the island of Azores. So, basically, this makes the experts think that the Lost City of Atlantis might be there. That, or it's an alien underwater base.

Well, I guess it won't be difficult to just dive down there, so we'll know soon.

Dude, it's portuguese. If it's Atlantis, it may be one of the most big arquelogical finds in history. But we probably are too dumb so basically it's going to take us 1 or 2 years and this will fall into forgetness.

This is pretty much generally agreed to be around the Mediterranean, more specifically the area of Santorini (classically Thera).
There was a Volcanic eruption around 3600 years ago, at the peak of the Minoan Empire. One of the remnants of this explosive eruption is the caldera where Santorini now lies.
The scale of the explosion, tied in with ancient accounts, makes this one of the largest volcanic eruptions ever, and has been linked with the fall of the Minoan Empire, which then relates to the earliest writings about a "Lost" city under the waves.

I knew half of that, knew that the Mediterrean was the most plausible place. But there's been a very interesting teory too: that Atlantis was basically an alien spaceship on the ground that took off.

They did it, they fucking did it.... Oracle Team USA pulls it out of the bag to win the Americas Cup by 9-8. Coming back from 8-1 down, being maybe 300m from defeat... Wow... Seriously that was proper sporting myth being created

You seriously watch sailing as the sport? Cant imagine doing that myself.

Because going somewhere on a yacht, with champagne and girls seems like much better idea what to do with the boat. Pfft
I'll be back

I'd use it to shoot at the coast guard and crash it into... wait, I've been playing too much GTA these last few days Cool

@ Avin
Hell yes! 40+mph, stunning scenery, tactics, heavily wind affected... it's basically cycling except a bit faster and on a boat Pfft
And well of course Champagne and girls are better... but same can be said for cycling Smile

@Ian
You are the reason people think violent games make people violent Shock

If you'd meet me, you would think the opposite. I'm the calmest person in Belgium.

There is a slightly small difference in joking on an internet forum and acting in real life, but I guess you already know that? Pfft

And also, strange how you phrased it: "you are the reason".
I take full, sole responsibility for that general opinion Grin

Just waiting in the airport terminal now to head to New York. So if I'm not entirely active or just have less time on here that's why.

Indeed. Especially considering Emirates basically won the one race they needed some days ago only to fall short of the time limit...
