15th - 20th February 2012 - Tour Of Oman
My 2012 season starts identically to last season, in Oman. Stage victories are my main target, as I want to get my time in the Rainbow Jersey in the best way.
HTC bring a strong squad to Oman, with the Overall victory in mind, as well as stage wins. Aiding me in the sprints is my usual right hand man Mark Renshaw, New Zealand Champion Hayden Roulston and Bert Grabsch.
Tejay van Garderen leads the team in the fight for GC, with Peter Velits and new man Daniel Martin working as Domestiques.
Lars Bak finalises the team, where he will help with the lead out, as well as working as domestique through the early parts of the stages.

15th February 2012 - Tour of Oman
(Al Sawadi - Al Seeb)
The opening stage of this year's Tour of Oman looks set to be one for the sprinters. Only a few small rises in the middle of the stage prevent it from being pan flat.
Today's target is a stage win, and everyone in the team is looking towards that, and should the opportunity arise, look to get into the day's break
13km: A total of 14 riders attacked at the beginning of the stage, and a large group formed off the front of the peleton.
22km: As the gap grew to around 1'34", a further 9 riders attacked, making a total of 23 riders off the front.
33km: Skil, Farnese - Vini and Saur - Sojasun took control of the peleton, and clearly a group that large was far too dangerous to let go.
44km: Through lack of organisation and the pace set by the peleton, everything was back together, but before long, another group of 9 riders went off the front.
77km: Movistar was the next team to take control, and as we reached the halfway stage, the break's lead peaked at 5'38".
118km: Movistar worked well to bring the gap down, but with around 40km remaining, orders were given to pull the escapees back.
134km: It was looking certain that the break was pulled back, when Sergio Marinangeli (Colnago - CSF) tried in a last ditched attempt to stay away.
152km: Marinangeli did not get far however, and with 5km to go, the HTC train was in full motion.
155km: Skil - Shimano started their sprint early, putting pressure on the other teams, and soon I was swamped by others. But a gap opened for me to go through...
157km: I popped out from around Renshaw, giving it everything. I kicked earlier than I had planned to, but I had enough to take the win! Fine way to start the season.

Thanks guys! Stage 2 and hopefully stage 3 will be played today.
@PCMrulezz & Miguel98: It is the PCMDaily 2011 db, so before his 'lifetime' ban. I found it quite funny that he signed for Katusha, especially after the recent 'ethical' problems they are having in real life.

16th February 2012 - Tour of Oman
(The Wave, Muscat - Al Wutayya)
Flat, flat and more flat today. However, it will not be an easy day in the saddle. Out of the city surroundings, the desert winds can really pick up, and with not many miles in the legs, the 135km stage can easily feel like 200km.
Like yesterday, the stage win is the team's target and focus.
23km: It took a little longer than usual for the day's break to form, as nine riders finally broke the elastic of the peleton.
34km: With me leading the Overall Classification, the lads were expected to do the lion's share of the work, but despite this, Skil and UnitedHealthcare took up the early pace setting.
55km: Swapping Rainbows for Red! I was enjoying my day in the Leader's Jersey
69km: Reaching the halfway stage, the break's lead peaked at 6'22", so yet again it was time for orders to be given for the guys to starting bringing it back.
93km: Despite working well together, the break's gap to the peleton decreased steadily, and with just 40km remaining, it was down to 2'53".
118km: The gap down to 1'22" with 20km remaining, Russian Champion Sergueï Ivanov (Katusha) attacked to bridge the gap.
122km: Approaching the finish, all but Alexander Ryabkin (Caja Rural) were pulled back by the peleton.
130km: HTC train in full motion again. Ryabkin was back in the peleton with 8km to go, and the guys took full control on the front.
134km: As the sprint started, Cyril Lemoine (Saur) and Enrico Rossi (Farnese) looked the strongest, but had they gone too early?
135km: They had! I come around them in the last 200m to make it two wins from two! This was a hard fought win, and thanks for the work done by the team.
