UCPCL World Tour - Cobbles and Catalunya Lists

Interesting results for the rankings, my top 15 teams all changed position.

Biggest surprise for me was Pro Team Haier, with 2 podiums.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Was most of the way through the stage report when Chrome crashed meaning i lost it all, will put it up later on probably but that killed my motivation completely

It is very close, guess I won't get your vote on the rankings Grin

It's probably because I give more points for winning stuff(rather than getting several riders in the top 10) compared to Manx.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean your score system is rubbish. I just adjusted my tactics in my startlists to TMM's system.
(Sending 2 Top 10 contenders per stage-race). Worked amazingly for the Early March races. But it doesn't work for your system Wink

A much shorter stage this afternoon, and as a result we're able to bring you complete coverage from start to end. The temperature is a pleasant 20degrees so the riders won't suffer too much, and judging by the profile, this will come down to a bunch sprint for the finish line.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0001_zps95c8d39b.jpg
We see a break forming quickly today with little competition in the peloton. Mancebo(AGT) lead the move, followed by Huzarski(IoQ), Zirbel(PGR), Kangert(NAC) and Hérrada(Magners.)

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0002_zps8876bd40.jpg
No real competition at the days only IS, Kangert of the CT team Nintendo is allowed to roll across the line first, ahead of Huzarski and Mancebo.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0003_zps550673bc.jpg
Huzarski is the first man through an uncontested mountain prime as we enter the second half of the stage, the breaks lead continues to shrink thanks to the work of SGL-Magix, ING-InBev and Caterham-Austar.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0004_zps9141aa0a.jpg
22km... The lead has all but gone now, dipping back under the 1minute mark for the first time in the stage. It's been a well controlled day, and the sprinters will be happy for another opportunity.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0005_zps3dd3904b.jpg
15km... We've all but reached the inevitable and the sprinters trains are beginning to form. ING and SGL are the two big sprinting teams here, and they along with ITV are the teams constructing a line.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0008_zps5de5d6e4.jpg
7km... Despite the best efforts of Zirbel and Mancebo the break was never going to make it home today. The relay line has done its job and now they will hand over the the 4 man sprinting trains built by the 3 biggest sprinter sides here.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0009_zps23a14ef4.jpg
4800m... It all seems pretty even at this point, ITV have the central line, which may prove the best though they seem to be going backwards. ING are on the inside with a strong squad to deliver the winner of Stage 2, whilst on the far right come the squad of german team SGL-Magix, dragging their man Marcel Kittel into position..

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0010_zps2f4d8509.jpg
2 poor changes by ING and ITV seem to have turned this into a one horse race! Gadret lacks the pace on the flat and ING are really struggling to hold tempo with there big rivals. ITV meanwhile are down to just one leadout, who will be hard pressed with still 3600m to ride!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0011_zpse0540065.jpg
1700m... Obst is beginning his sprint for Kittel, looking to set his man up from this perfect position in front. Both Leezer and Oget seem to be trying a long distance sprint whilst Mr second place sits on the wheel of ITV rival Napolitano...

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0012_zpsb37f1598.jpg
1100m... Kittel decides to go fairly early due to the tiring legs of his leadout. Boivin of MCS is giving it his best shot from nowhere, whilst Veenhof still struggles to get back into the fight.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0013_zps64839b60.jpg
500m... Kittel is into the barriers and will be the victor here today. Veenhof has finally found a line and looks good to live up to his well earned name. The fight for 3rd is between Jorgenson, Taborre and Miyazawa of Nintendo Ambuja, with the latter currently looking favourite to give his wildcard CT team a brilliant podium finish!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0014_zps5d505cfe.jpg
Veenhof only managed to close the gap once Kittel slowed down to celebrate, he was a victim of a poor leadout in the end, something ING will surely look to rectify ahead of the final stagem which looks perfect to give the WTs most consistent sprinter another opportunity for success.

Another strong sprint by Jørgensen (though I blame ING's bad lead-out for Jonas missing the podium Wink )
...and another bunch sprint top 10 from Roche

The seasons second monument is a major test for any cyclist. This year has a new route, which has garnered much condemnation from the cycling community. However the weather is dry and a bit warmer today so hopefully we'll see a good race. Usual favorites are here amongst the strongest cobbles startlist so far.

Todays first attack came a few kilometers in from Benett (AXA). Von Triensberg (TUG) and Gardeyn (HAI) joined him to form an early breakaway.
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/UCPCL/PCM0001_zps2d3d727c.jpg

Over the first set of hills Eisel, Langeveld, Hammarling, Ladagnous, Thompson, Van Avermaet and Ulriksson all went away as a group. ING, FWB and TLI worked hard for the following period to pull them back, doing so at the base of the first pass of the Oude Kwaremont. This is where we will pick up the racing, with everything together and 75km left.
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/UCPCL/PCM0004_zps0a0e2318.jpg

The race really begins

75km to go - The race is all back together as we enter the back end of the day

64km - Vansummeren and Leukemans go on the early attack!
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/UCPCL/PCM0005_zps750f6429.jpg

Too early or amazing story?

50km - The duo lead by 39". The group behind is 17 strong and includes the big favorites. Eisel is solo another 1'00 behind, with most of the early movers another 1'18 behind. Pozzato is over 4'00 behind already...

40km - Vansummeren and Leukemans are caught by the chase group!

37km - Back of the Oude Kwaremont the lead group is down to 11 riders. Hushovd, Nuyens, Boom, Hayman, Vanmarcke and Hammarling chase 51" later. Stannard is solo 1'12 back and Eisel a further 1'48! Anyone else is now well out of contention for today, including E3 winner Gilbert

33km - Over the Paterberg Cancellara, Boonen, Flecha, Chavanel, Ballan and Boom get a small gap. But on the decent most the front groups come together to form a lead group of 18 riders.
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/UCPCL/PCM0006_zps6bc37d10.jpg

Over the Oude

13km - Back round again over the double and Chavanel, Flecha, Boonen, Terpstra, Vansummeren and Nuyens go away off the front! The 11 man chase is 1'11 behind... The winning move has now surely formed!

6km - Chavanel injects some pace into the lead group as Cancellara thinks about an attack...

3km - Chavanel leads into the sprint, with Flecha glued to his wheel and Boonen in third place...

1500m - Flecha takes it up and gos first! Boonen is caught unawares and a gap appears!
1000m - Boonen finds his speed and starts to come back! Its going to be a two man duel for the win!
700m - Boonen draws level but Flecha isn't giving in and digs deep!
500m - Flecha still holds a lead!!!
300m - Boonen edges forward...
200m - He keeps eding
FINISH - Tommoke takes the win!!!
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/UCPCL/PCM0008_zpsb7899bb8.jpg

Flecha just beaten into second, with Cancellara third. Nuyens is 4th, Vansummeren 6th, Terpstra 7th and Chavanel 8th. Ballan leads the next group in 9th, with Breschel 10th.
Around half the field fail to finish!!

Just what is wrong with Motorex? Sad

You could argue that we are still solid in the rankings, but keep in mind our whole squad is based on these races, and that after the classics we aren't likely to score that many points.
