So, which one happens next, Warriors lose a game, or Sixers win a game?

Golden State are really awesome this year, i still dont get how Curry can shoot the 3s like its nothing, two metres outside the arc, hop step left and right and BAM! It's a kind of magic
It will be sad to see them loosing the Finals to Cavs in few months time, that is if their players will be healthy. Dont forget that Cavs are playing without several players for different span of games and their all star point guard is yet to start his season.
GO Cavs GO! And Clipps too!

Well, honestly GSW will loose at some point eventually, BUT I can assure you it won't be against Cavs on Christmas, mainly because it's at Oracle Arena. I also don't get why there are no regular season matches between San Antonio and the Warriors as one of these two will win the NBA this year most likely. Not that I underestimate the East, but they're nowhere near these two teams. The things that is most fascinating for me, however, is that the reigning MVP Curry can easily be a contender for the Most Improved Player this year. Of course, that won't happen, but he should get the MVP if he's healthy. And the rest are just amazing as well: Klay started rather slow but he's now getting there, Draymond is just amazing with his passes and Ezeli is fully capable of replacing Bogut. Iggy is just deadly when shooting and is perhaps the best 6th man in the league. We'll see what will happen eventually, but I am almost sure the title will go to the warriors again on condition they manage to avoid injuries. |

Nice duel yesterday between Nowitzki and his younger self Porzingis. Though the teacher won the duel. Not only game wise but also made the shots against him, while Porzingis struggled a long time, also in rebounding.
In the 4th quarter though he really made an effort to make the final exciting. Though he was making most shots against the Mavs bench then.
But for now I think Porzingis has great chances for the Rookie of the Year award. Also his personality seems to much more focussed and nicer than of some other rookies like Okafor, who playing wise have a huge impact as well of course. |

While i agree that Porzingis is having a nice rookie season, my personal favourite right now would be K.A. Towns from Wolves. They have very similar numbers, Towns has slight edge on PIE rating there and Wolves are doing better as the team. But these two and Okafor all can battle for the award as things are now imo.
I suppose those Knicks fans that were booing on Porzingis during draft night know how stupid they were back then, by now.

We can't really say cuz we don't have the opportunity to see them against the Spurs. I think one of these two will win it but we'll have to wait until the playoffs for it. |

Cavs will win the title, they are just warming up and now their third all-star Kyrie started his season (with 17mins against terrible 76ers).

Cavs will go far. But they will not win.
LBJ is always a great player for sure. Irving will soon be good as well. But still a long injury might last longer than half a season to recover.
And not sure about Kevin Love. He was a great guy 2-3 years back when he was a 20/20 machine. Since playing for the Cavs he is not consistent enough.
Actually prefered Thompson over him, when he was injured last season.
Dubs will win the league imo. But I agree that it`s only the Spurs, who can challenge them. Unfortunately this shit league system is not giving us a chance to see it. Imo all teams should play against each other as we have it in football or other leagues. |

Well, Love was not good last year, also hurted by several injuries. But this year, he is much better again and actually is the important player for Cavs. 17,3 points, 10.5 rebounds and almost 3 assists per game and very high efficiency rating of 15,7. He cant be a leader like in shitty Minnesota back in those days where he stood out too much.
Now Irving coming back with nice 12points and several dimes in just 17 minutes. If those three will stay healthy, they are my favourites even against Warriors, but that is long way to go since playoofs, anything can happen.
I am not sure how much you have seen from Cavs this year, but they are all about health and flow. Once they get rolling, they are unstopable with three all-stars + likes of Mozgov, Thompson, Dellavedova, Shumpert, J.R. and others. Quality is there...

Well to be honest. I haven`t watched too many Cavs games.
But the ones I watched I thought other teams would be better. I mean on a good day I think even teams like the Raptors or Indiana could surprise. They are capable to challenge in a playoff series. They would need a perfect series though.
That said, those two won`t win the championship. But while I don`t see them beating the Dubs or Spurs, I see the chance of a Cavs struggle (Though playoff LBJ should easily avoid this I guess).
In other news I love what the Mavs are doing this year. Far from a championship team but they play with great passion and prove most critics wrong. Dirk not as good as in his prime. But still with 37 one of the best players this age in league history. Most have lost it when passing 34+ but some are still going strong like him or Duncan. Then Matthews is a great player. Unfortunately not having found his ryhtm yet after the injury. But getting better and better. D-Will playing much better as with the Nets, Parsons so far coming from the bench mainly but also improving with every game. Pachulia one of the biggest surprises. Give this man the MIP award. What a fighter he is.
And the two biggest surprises are Felton at his best and Powell, who is the winner of the Rondo trade for sure.
McGee on a good day can also give you value from the bench, while veterans like Barea or Harris bring you huge energy as well.
Playing with 3 point guards at times is giving the spectator a great watch. Great ball handling team. Though I guess they will once more lose the first playoff game. |

Best dunk contest ever !!!
Incredible duel between Lavine and Gordon, shame that the title cant be halved, both would be deserved winners. Epic dunks, Gordon under his legs from the hands of mascott was insane.
Same with free throw line alley-oop from Lavine, hats off high flyers!

73-9 and 402!!! threes in a season, are you kidding me? Give guy another MVP without a ballot, he is just too great to go through voting.
I still cant believe how you can drain over 400 threes in a season, is it even human thing to do? With freaking 45% percentage, some of them way behind the line, two-three metres, no problem!

Curry had another insane season indeed. 400+ is phenomenal. Great final game for Kobe, a win, 17 unanswered points at the end and 60 points total is one to remember for him.

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Yeah, nice farewell for Kobe, but on 50 FG attempts, even i would drain 60 from that.
Never been big fan of him, unlike Shaq, but he is a legend for sure.
Here are my picks for the 1st round, what do you guys think?
(1) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (8) Detroit Pistons 4:1
(2) Toronto Raptors vs. (7) Indiana Pacers 4:2
(3) Miami Heat vs. (6) Charlotte Hornets 4:2
(4) Atlanta Hawks vs. (5) Boston Celtics 2:4
(1) Golden State Warriors vs. (8) Houston Rockets 4:1
(2) San Antonio Spurs vs. (7) Memphis Grizzlies 4:0
(3) Oklahoma City Thunder vs. (6) Dallas Mavericks 4:2
(4) L.A. Clippers vs. (5) Portland Trail Blazers 4:2

no upsets in my opinion...Teams I see capable of doing such are the 3 lower teams in the East & Dallas if Carlisle & stuff can pull out something special...

So here it is, tonight the first chapter of long awaited showdown of two best teams in the league.
I am obviously all in for the Cavs, i hope they will crush the Warriors. They are bulit better than last year and especially healthy now, not like last year when the King has to bear everything on his shoulders.
So i will come with bold prediction of 4-2 for the Cavs.
