David Veilleux-The Next Canadian Legend
valverde321
@ Avin - Thanks! I think he will most likely work for Kreuziger, since he has much better stats for hilly races, but you never know...
@ sutty - Yeah, he's doing quite well actually. I think Top 15 would be a reasonable goal, if he can get there.

Lets see how many friens are still around...

Great Thread here Smile Its what I expect from you though Smile

I have been reading through it over the last few days and finally finished it today Smile

A good career with Europcar and even better with Sky Grin

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/Flags/Spain.png Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco - Stage 5

April 8th, 2013

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-1.jpg

David's Plan

Today is the final stage to get any time we may want before the final day, and time trial. The stage is rather lumpy but hopefully Kreuziger can survive and gain time on his rivals!

Race Report

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-2.jpg

The opening few kilimetres saw a breakaway of 7 riders including Josh Atkins, but he was later dropped as another group passed them on the road, so Atkins went back to the peloton.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-3.jpg

After quite a long time with little action, Sky put three men to the front in order to try and bring back the breakaway who had a gap of 9 minutes to the peloton with 60km left in the race.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-4.jpg

Now with 30km left, it is quite clear that the breakaway riders will settle it out for the win, but there are still 7 riders who have the chance!

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-5.jpg

Even though they cant go for the win, Gerdemann and Kreuziger both attack on the final climb of the day about 13km from the line. However both would get brought back two km's later at the summit of the climb.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-6.jpg

Meanwhile, I just cant keep the tempo, and I fall back but I have to keep going because I know I can make up some time in the time trial tomorrow and end off the race in a respectable position.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-7.jpg

Now as we go into the final km there are only two leaders who have broken away from the others, Caruso, and Bochman. Bochman starts the sprint off, as we see the other breakaway riders just behind them!

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/paisvasco5-8.jpg

But Caruso uses Bochman's slipstream to gain an advantage and he takes the win! Kreuziger also loses time to some of the favourites like Contador and Valverde so he has fallen down in the GC, but it will be possible for him to make it up tommorow! I had a good descent and stayed inside the Top 25!

Awesome screens! You did really well with editing them.. my first thought was, that I love the first two ones, but the screen of Gerdemann attacking and the finish are also great Smile Ah, and David does also well as 22nd in GC!

Agreed, some of the better pics I have seen in a while. (Doesn't say much since I haven't really had the time to read any stories lately, but never the less they look nice Wink )

Awesome screens Valverde!Smile Especially the first one and that one with Gerdemann and Roman attacking.
Nice ride by Davis, is he close to some riders ahead of him in terms of time?Good luck for the TT.
I'll be back

cunego59
I agree with the others! High quality report plus very decent result, well done Smile Personally, I also like to see Damiano Caruso winning such a prestigious stage. If it's not you, then at least someone from my story's team Pfft

dienblad
Yep, great screens. Must be some pretty good videocard in your pc/laptop!
Anyway, hope David can improve to a top 20 after the ITT!

Had to look twice at some of these screens because they look so real, nice workSmile

@ tsmoha - Thanks a lot! I'm very happy that my screenshots are getting such nice reviews, as I try to make them look as nice as I can. Yeah, David is still in a fairly nice spot, and he's tied with a couple riders, so he could move into the Top 15.

@ Mresuperstar - Thanks very much! Whenever you make a little change like this and do something different, I always have to wonder if the change was worth it, but in this case it seems very much like it has been!

@ Avin - Thank you so much! Yeah, my favourite is Gerdemann and Roman attackingm, but I also like the one of the peloton chasing. Like I said he is tied with I think 3 other riders on GC time, and the gap is only two minutes to the leader, so if he makes up to 30 seconds, he could move into the Top 15, which will probably be his goal at this point!

@ cunego - Thanks very much, especially coming from you Wink I thought you'd be happy that Caruso won! Exactly, I always have the same motto too Smile

@ dienblad - Thanks a ton! Its really not all that great actually Pfft Yes lets hope he can too! He is one of the better TTers but the course is also hilly tomorrow!

@ sutty - Wow, that is such a great compliment. Especially after I have started to edit them a little, it just means that I'm doing the right things obviously Pfft

Thank you everyone, but there probably wont be a stage for a few days! I have hockey tomorrow and Friday and I have an assignment due on Friday, and Monday, and I haven't started either of them!

Alastairhufc
Great stage there, doing well in GC as well Smile

As the others have said, good writing and pictures Smile

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the reports!

I just wanna say I started the whole signing Kreuziger thing, since he's being signed in everyone elses stories Pfft

(Edit: Just remebered, it was actually Squire, in his Discovery Story)

(Its probably just because he's the only cool GT rider available in 2011)

Thanks a lot, haven;t seen you here in a while....

And I was the (2nd) person to sign Kreuz, but now he goes in every story

And thanks Fuglsang, hopefully he can improve on the position still!

tmobile
wow, I dont know how you do, but your screenshots look very real!

I believe that it has not been a bad result, you have to keep on fighting to obtain better positions.

My congratulations for Roman's signing (it seems that now he is fashionable Pfft) he is a big cyclist!

Good luck with the ITT and a greeting.

Kreuziger is just awesome Wink

valverde321
Thanks again you two Wink

Editing the photos only takes an extra 2 minutes for each photo, so I feel its worth the time!

And Agree about Roman! Pfft
