It's usually not this obvious whether the breakaway will make it or not by the time the bets close. I'll set the closing time to an hour or so earlier from now on, just to remove all risks.

I'd love to see him win. One of my favourite riders.
I find him quite uneven though. Sometimes an excellent climber, puncheur and sprinter, then nowhere near that capacity the next day.

Obvious or not, I think the bets should close when the stage starts.
Anyway, to be honest, I don' really like bonus seconds. I have a feeling they cause fewer attacks. Instead of trying to create a gap, the most important thing is simply to cross the line first. This could mean that riders don't attack untill it's only a few hundred metres left, maybe even a kilometer.
Why risk blowing up because of an attack when you can sit and "relax" only to sprint for 12 seconds on the line?
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Exactly this. I've been saying it for years, but some people still defend that they somehow make for aggressive racing, when the truth is that they've always been a bonus for successful wheelsucking. And in a race which has only 1 ITT, which has been (successfully) designed to be irrelevant, they're specially ridiculous.

Can these prior results be revoked due to this? Anybody who bet on another rider after can win humoungus amounts of money for basically taking advantage of the system. Reall unfair. ut I guess this should move to the bettting thread.

Navarro setting something up for Contador up the road. Contador's problem yesterday was that he couldn't hold his pace for long. This would help remedy that.

More than enough for them to stay clear.
Weird tactic from Saxobank.

Saxo with the Kelme/Liberty "stairs" technique
EDIT: To explain. Contador will attack up to them, they'll pace him, as (ideally) RodrÃguez buries himself to get back up.

Saxo sending riders up the road to help AC to keep the pace once he's attacked. Bizarre tactic, but it could work.

This is getting interesting.
Purito is down to Losada and Moreno who crashed earlier.
