Breakaway for Kirsch is what I was hoping for. Best chance to pull something off and came pretty close to doing just that.
TTT stage win bid now, and with Girdlestone in place to benefit from a good result to move in to the GC Top 20.

Another great performance by Warchol!
If he manages to stay with the team in the TTT, he could end up in 6th or 7th. That would be way above pre-race expectations.
Also Senni and Carboni still on track for top 20 positions.

That was much more promising and normal from Novak! Hoping it is a sign for what is to come in his races later this season. No result of any kind here, unfortunately, but at least it makes us look forward to his next GC race.
And wow, it's the Pogi show! Really, really cool to see him dominate at this stage. Congratulations again, red! |

Congrats redordead! Cool to see Pogi winning things also in the MG world.
I'm happy McNulty could hold onto his 3rd GC spot. Staying ahead of Eastman in the TTT will be difficult though with his stronger TT squad. |

Pretty disappointing that Galta couldn't gain anything on Faglum Karlsson and instead loses more ground on Eastman and Warchol. Looks like holding onto the top 10 is the best we can hope for now. Another disappointing race.
Pogacar expectedly strong but I didn't expect him to just play with the field like he has, congrats to redordead.

Not a good race for us until now with too less breakaway action and a rather disappointing show from Ranaweera - and the TTT won't make anything better. At least we're not here for points

Congrats to red once again. Definitely didn't expect him to beat the better climbers twice in a row, but I don't understand PCM anyway 
Pretty mixed feelings about Stüssi's performance here. 11th place - which will be his final position, guess that's 99% sure - is fully within expectations. But: It's twice in a row that he couldn't keep up with Faglum, whom he managed to beat on most occasions last year. No clue what went wrong on these two days, but it's a bit disappointing to miss out on a Top 10 like this. As said before, pre-race I'd have taken 11th place, but when there's a similarly skilled rider ahead, there's still plenty of "what ifs".
Anyway, let's focus on the final stage, do a good TTT (which means dropping Chavanne and Bol early on, then continuing with the 75+ TTers), and at least put some pressure on Moser who don't have a very balanced lineup on paper. And there's also Darbellay's 20th place to defend (which is a good result after all), and maybe get a couple of stage points.

So, can finally post here.
3rd by Phinney is pretty decent I`d say. Obviously I was hoping to see him doing a bit better in the climbs vs. Pogacar to have a chance to take 1st or 2nd but then again it was a race without his individual TT advantage and then other teams are just better.
After the win in Portugal I take the 3rd here easily, which still shows what he is capable of at age 34. Any race with an ITT included he should fight for the win a lot more.
The decline of his backup stats make it more and more likely that younger riders such as Pogacar are able to attack him and open a gap.
Having Cras on an incredible 12th is huge as well. Wonder if he had been closer to top10 as leader or I`d say more likely to 20th without being "carried" alongside a strong leader.
Schelling in 28th as 3rd rider already and two more in the top100 is nice depth points.
In especially Hessmann, who also is 10th in youth has done well here as unmaxed rider.
Congrats to red for a huge win and performance as also to ember for the early winning strike. Nice to see Groenewegen having it here after a slow start to the season. Point wise at the end of the year he always delivered, during the season he often was in between over and under performances. |

Yeah, no surprises there. Bad TTT setup can't do anything in the TTT. Disappointing to finish behind a few of the riders ahead still who also had bad TTT lineups. I said 8th place was the minimum acceptable, and we got 9th. Just not good enough when we're trying to avoid relegation.
At this point, unless Per goes absolutely crazy, it already looks like our season is headed in the opposite direction to last year. We were operating on thin margins, and Galta has already flopped in half of his calendar.

A bit of a disappointing performance in the TTT. I guess we put in so much work the day before that we weren't near our best today. GC wise we didn't need to do much, so it's fine. On to the positives!
It's 'only' taken 7 years, but this is the first time I've completed a winning goal! And it's obviously fantastic to do it with a home grown rider like Pogacar 
It's been a slow start to the season, but hopefully this result along with some other solid outings this month (a couple races still to go) puts us back on track. Even with Pogacar doing everything he could we do lack a bit of depth from Habtemichael here so the scoring is not off the charts, but completing what I thought on paper was the hardest goal surely makes up for it!
I certainly lucked out with the big guns all skipping this race, but it seems like Pogacar is near the top of that 2nd tier of climbers. I think that bodes well for his other races this season
Congrats to Aker for having the best race out of everyone here and I also love to see our friends at Oxxo get Eastman up to 2nd place with their TTT win

Very disappointing race. Foss couldnt do anything. Krasts and Bellan at least got top 50 but thats still a terrible outing when a top 20 looked reasonable. The only positive is that the race is finally over.
We really need some more aggressive riding when we arent in races with our big guns!

Great first real PT race for McNulty. He looked really strong on the climbs. Disappointing to drop to 4th in the TTT but 4th in that company is a pretty good outcome. Also put some pressure on Gidich who was weak by comparison in TA.
Thanks to Roturn for picking up this race really late despite his big involvement.

Positively surprised by the TTT outcome, that went pretty well For once, PCM interpreted our strategy correctly, dropping Bol and Chavanne early on, with the other 6 going as fast as possible. And according to the results, it looked like they actually got 2nd place - at least if the 5th rider of the team to finish is taken as the reference. If it's the first rider, we should still have been 3rd - but no.
I've got no clue why, but the game somehow decided that we're 4th, with Vesuvio 2nd and Puma 3rd (if anyone can make sense of this, please tell me...). Still, that's 10 stage points we weren't expecting.
And we weren't expecting either that Stüssi would climb one spot to claim our first GC Top 10 of the year! Definitely a good sign for his upcoming races, in particular his two GTs.
Still, the time loss on stages 6 and 7 is really nasty in hindsight. In particular because another 79 climber made the split twice... Being in the group of favourites twice would have meant 6th place here - which obviously would be far above his skill level, but it feels like a missed opportunity. Maybe later in the season.
Otherwise, pleased by Darbellay finishing 18th - exactly the same position as in Portugal, but whereas this was a huge disappointment over there, now it's a good outcome as Stüssi's domestique.
Congrats to Cedevita, looks like Pogacar has really arrived at the top. One more Mo training and he's a safe bet for a GT podium (which he might already be this year), two more trainings and he's a GT winner. Some nice perspectives I guess 
Congrats to Aker once again for their great run at the start of the race, that must be a ton of points for you as well.

Obviously a huge race for us stage wins wise. To also get the green jersey as a reward is a bonus we happily take after Groenewegen's Qatar. This was massive for him and also for my belief in his abilities as a sprinter. No need to stop hoping for what is left of the season after this show
A minor disappointment to see how we played the first mountain stage, throwing both Novak's potential top 10 GC (he would have needed a big stage for that), but also his best chance at a good stage placing. Luckily he gave promising signs on the Queen stage, making me hopeful for what is to come later this season.
Big congratulations to red on the GC and the two stage wins. What a race this was for them Also a perfect TTT by Oxxo to grab 2nd in the GC, congratulations, Nemo! |

Bizarre TTT with all the matching times - but did expect some randomness with placing it as the final stage. Results are a random jumble but the report implies that the in game view was 2nd? I'll desperately take a claim on it anyway - has not exactly been a lucrative triple header for the team otherwise.

Was a bit sad after reading stage six and I feared the triple header might really be a big bummer for us. Definitely when Eastman also got dropped on stage 7, but luckily Lopez Nolasco stood up and got him back to where he needed to be. That is a good sign for the Giro at least. Then Eastman was really strong to be the best of the rest after an amazing Pogacar, which is of course nice for us but also for Cedevita as the patience of leveling and training him all those years is being paid with a superb result now. And then came the TTT, where we surpassed expectations by winning it (for the first time ever) and bringing Eastman to 2nd in GC. Definitely a good result in this field.
Thank you roturn for taking on the race and reporting it nicely as usual, and congratulations to ember and redordead on some stellar performances once again.

Seems like the team waited for Warchol a bit in the TTT, which probably was the correct choice even though it cost both Senni and Carboni one GC spot.
But if Warchol had been just 7 seconds quicker he would've been 6th in GC instead of 8th, so it was worth a shot.
Overall grabbing places 8, 13, 15, 24 and 35 plus the TC gives us a proper amount of points. Better than pre-race expectations, so we're happy.
