Brilliant ride by Ganna again, never looking in trouble to lose his podium spot.
O'Brien doing very well too to move into a good GC and U25 position, this gives me hope for his performances after his final upgrade next winter.
One more day to go! The profile looks like it should suit us once again. Bring it home!

Groves really doing well in those hilly stages, too bad it hasn't been enough for too many scoring results so far. Maybe he can somehow deliver a great result tomorrow and fight for the points classification?

Not the day I expected to lose the points jersey to a sprinter.
Guess at this point the only hope for us is that tomorrow is also a sprint and AKA picks up points again. Don't see any other way this goes well for us. Still mad that Kamna got dropped in what's been the most unselective race imaginable.

Zhao not able to keep up is completely fine. Though, seeing the sprinters actually making it, he can't have been far away from making it.
This has been a very weird race, I must say. Not sure I know what to say, really |

Not the best race so far for Lutsenko, but that stage 7 win really helps to at least score some points.

Good to see the puncheurs getting that one, and also good to see that Groves being the sprinter with the best hilly skills present was the only one being in the mix (although I wouldn't have said no to some more Bol magic ).
Errazkin apparently was pretty lucky to close the gap, but then easily stayed safe to move up to 10th.
However, I had completely forgotten that Masnada is here as well - completely anonymous race by him so far, which is a shame given his skillset. Even more so for Schmid, who does absolutely nothing - but I guess PCM handling a sprinter and a puncheur is already a lot, can't expect some outsiders in the break ^^
Congrats to Lutsenko and DD - and I guess Wirtgen should definitely have this one locked up, what a start for EA this year!

Another solid stage from our guys!! Conci and Cosnefroy staying in the front group which moves Conci into 3rd and Cosnefroy into 15th. Just need more of the same tomorrow and this would have been an amazing race for us.

The final stage didn't really turn out in our favor. Yes Rajovic produced a nice sprint for 4th place and TGH somehow got into 3rd overall, but we lost so many riders in the split that we'd be better off finishing the race after stage 7
All in all a nice way to conclude the triple clash. I had much bigger expectations for Paris-Nice, but I think I actually scored more points in Tirreno
Still this was a good race and TGH finishing as high as 3rd hopefully means that Tasmania was just a one off. He can quickly double down if he does well in Ukraine also. This also assures me that I'll have at least 1/5 goals
Congrats to Vesuvio and thanks to roturn for the reports

First of all, big congrats to ELCO and Coquard for finally getting that win - plus the green jersey. Obviously it's still far less points than what he could've scored, but at least he's still alive!
Congrats as well to Wirtgen on getting the overall win - what a season EA are having so far!
Overall, the hilly stages were pretty much not selective at all, with Ganna taking full profit of it. Tao and Conci on the other hand could be expected up there, well done. Having a couple of pure puncheurs and even a sprinter in the Top 10 means it was a race where every rider with at least some versatility could shine - may well have been the goal on this route, I don't know.
For me, it was good to see that Bol once again got involved in the sprints, looks like his legs should be warmed up for Juárez now. Positioning was worse than on the first two days, so still something to work on, but 12th in the GC and 6th in points is a great performance in a PT race!
Errazkin was rock solid throughout the whole week - a completely anonymous race ends in a 9th place GC finish. If he does that all year long, I'm absolutely satisfied (although some good stage results wouldn't hurt).
Thanks to roturn for the reports, and congrats again to those who did well!

Another solid sprint from Groves, yet missing the points classification by a small margin. Obviously a good win for Coquard though and that's about right then!
Definitely not the P-N that we expected (ofc there was hoping for Groves to do well in sprints though). Eventually we did completely rely on our sprinter, who did fairly well with a Top-15 GC. Probably not for the big points, but with Storer disappearing and no breakaway/KoM attempts at all, I guess we can be happy with what Groves gave us here.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to those, who did well!

Just when you think it's a good day, Ioannidis fucks up and losses time and his GC spot. Jesus Christ...

Rough stage 7 for Ion, dropping from 7th to 20th (now back to 17th). Not what you wanted to see at all, and after some good performances, that's definetely worrying. However, I think part of that was that the game treated Meintjes as our primary team leader on that stage, and I don't think they share any more races where Ion is our dedicated leader, so hopefully that doesn't happen again.
Silvestre with another highlight, second place on stage 6 is awesome. In all, this was a good wild card race for us. Would have liked to see us at least a little active in early breakaways, but that's not a big deal. Thanks for the very nice reports roturn, and congrats to everyone who's happy with their results!

Zhao's sprinting here has definitely been encouraging to see, as he gives hope he'll be a contender for stage top 5s in stage races during the season. That's why we signed him, and he's delivering accordingly, which is nice to see.
Elsewhere, there wasn't much in this race for us. Kamp in 4th in the mountains classification thanks to yesterday's breakaway is a bonus we'll happily take.
Congratulations on the stage win and the points jersey, SotD! Regarding the GC, the winner makes perfect sense on such a course, congratulations, SN. Philipsen in 8th, though... Polar is making a statement early this season. They'll be a very strong podium contender by the looks of it, quite surprisingly, I must say! |

It was a fantastic start for us, but ended up as a middling race for us, verging on bad. AKA was set up great for the points jersey, but the unselective hilly stages gave the other sprinters too many opportunities, and the lottery was not in our favor. I guess the downhill sprint today favored the high acceleration guys and didn't really give him a chance to come around, which is fine in isolation. Coquard winning the points jersey is the right outcome anyway, though falling to third in that in the hills to sprinters is toguh to take.
Especially so because Kamna dropped the ball so badly here. 50th place, while guys who are directly his rider type and league, or only slightly above, are finishing in the top 5. That's rough. Especially because of how unselective the race was. Kamna never lost time because he cracked. He just gave up. And with Aranburu working ont he front, it was very unclear who the AI thought my team should be going for. AKA I guess? The AI handled carrying a puncheur/climber with Kamna for his GC races very well last year and prioritized him. Here, it hasn't, which obviously has me worried that he's going to score very poorly in similar races going forward.
The stage win and AKA's unexpected 22nd on GC make this not a complete failure, but the second half of the race definitely stung. Triple Clash ended up being not an ideal time for us despite a good Tirreno and no expectations in Duche.
Thanks for the phenomenal reports!

Instead of Ardila, somehow the AI made Brozyna our leader. And we didnt do anything. Worst triple header possible. Thanks for the reports, though! |

Not much going on for us in the last stages, except Van der Kooij getting in the mix here and there.
We looked really interested in the KoM jersey, but when it really mattered, we were not there.
Thanks for the reports!
At least Coquard got something out of this in the end. And a nice GC place too to maybe make up for the embarrassments

Im very happy about my team performance. Very active in the break, a lomg stint in polkadots nd in the end both Krasts and Neilands with a high finish in the KoM classification. I came with very little expectation and could not expect any stage or gc results so in very happy about this outcome.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
