I guess Phinney doesn't want any favours then, huh?
If this game did karma then look out for it Phinney!
In all seriousness, a stage victory, 2nd place in the KOM and a decent enough overall placing made this an acceptable race considering we didn't exactly bring a strong team here. Congrats to Phinney and Isostar for winning almost everything here, a dominant performance.

5th in GC here is excellent thanks to that one fantastic stage and is good to see in a flat TT heavy route.
This last mountain stage was a bit subpar unfortunately as he struggled a lot in the finale against weaker riders. Though the most important rivals were dropped before due to a great team performance by our climbers. Veterans Dekker/Machado, young talent Carboni and prime Zardini, who also climbed a few spots today. Very well done and a much needed GC performance in the relegation fight.
Can only hope Olivier has some of those climbing performances in the upcoming Tour.
Thanks for the reports and congrats Croatia. Huge dominance by Phinney played to perfection. |

Thanks for the race Ulrich. I was pretty disappointed with everything going into today's stage, but Amador had a great performance coupled with some unlucky riders losing time, and moving from 9th to 4th is a huge result.
Phinney on another level though, as expected.

I think at this point its best I stop commenting this season. I honestly dont know what to say anymore, that isn't complaining or seen as whining so theres really no point.

Congrats Croatia, what a domination!
Mixed feelings after the final stage. I think i can be quite content with the result in the end. It's about what i expected/hoped to get (and i guess that some managers might have rated Chiarello worse than 7th in this startlist) but we could have scored quite a bit more if it wasnt for the big aggression that we have shown on this final stage with both Tvetcov and Chiarello in attack mode. Usually i really like to do see that but at the very least for Chiarello, the risk/reward ratio didnt look tempting here considering he might have been able to Zubeldia himself today to a top 5 finish. But i cant be unhappy with how things turned out. Especially since Enric Mas helps the team to a third place in the team classification too which adds further minor points to the tableau.
Thanks for the reports!

What a crazy good race by Phinney!
He won absolutely everything he could win in such a race. Big congratulations, Croatia!
We tried our best, eventhough putting Walsleben in the breakaway on such a mountain stage, was at best slightly weird |
