Kelderman in CT is just silly
Strong team and with the support of Henttala promotion should be a given

@viking: Apparently they're so good, we don't have anyone else for the hills Hoping you're right about Keinath
@jandal: Yes planning will be important to ensure we pull through on our potential. Let's see if we can enjoy the season a bit more than the last one
@knockout: Thanks Hoping you have future-telling powers!
@Atlantius: The idea behind accepting the Henttala trade was infact to put in one final support piece which we felt was missing. Hopefully, that trade helps us both
I am very surprised that no manager started a meaningful discussion to take Kelderman away from us in transfers!

Oh dear, I remember telling Fabianski after trading Moscon that there was no way Kelderman would stay in the CT with those budget problems. Let's hope he performs better this year so you'll be back in the PCT in no time!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

@Ollfardh: No way I was letting him go after having spent so much on him, despite all the headaches. Planning for transfers basically revolved around filling the remaining wage in the best way possible. Not that anyone tried to get him either

It is time to look at the talents we have recruited over time, who will be developing with us or elsewhere this season. A total of eight riders are on the development path in our books, including three who are loaned out and three Stagiares.
Felix Grossschartner | Loaned-Out
Age: 27 | Level: 4 Grossschartner will spend the season with Grieg - Maersk in the PT to reach his full potential. We expect him to be become a strong domestique to Kelderman in the coming seasons.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 67 | 72 | 75 | 67 | 72 | 72 | 71 | 50 | 62 | 70 | 69 | 68 | 69 | Puncher | 68 | 73 | 77 | 67 | 74 | 73 | 72 | 50 | 62 | 71 | 70 | 68 | 69 | Stage Race | 67 | 74 | 76 | 69 | 73 | 73 | 73 | 50 | 62 | 70 | 69 | 68 | 71 | Climber v1 | 67 | 74 | 77 | 67 | 72 | 73 | 72 | 50 | 62 | 72 | 71 | 68 | 69 |
Riccardo Minali | Loaned-Out
Age: 25 | Level: 3 Loaned out to Valio - Viking Genetics, Minali needs two years of development to reach his maximum potential. He should already be a strong lead-out next season.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 69 | 52 | 57 | 56 | 69 | 71 | 74 | 59 | 75 | 75 | 62 | 73 | 66 | Sprinter | 73 | 52 | 58 | 56 | 72 | 72 | 80 | 62 | 79 | 79 | 62 | 74 | 66 | Track-Sprint | 73 | 52 | 58 | 57 | 70 | 74 | 79 | 59 | 79 | 79 | 62 | 74 | 70 |
Kevin Inkelaar | In-house
Age: 23 | Level: 3 Our future leader in pure climbing races, Inkelaar stays with us this season to continue his development. He will also lead our charge in the Avenir, being one of the top favourites for the race this season.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 63 | 76 | 68 | 61 | 72 | 73 | 75 | 56 | 60 | 73 | 69 | 69 | 61 | Climber v1 | 63 | 80 | 71 | 61 | 73 | 75 | 78 | 56 | 60 | 76 | 73 | 70 | 61 | Climber v2 | 64 | 80 | 69 | 61 | 75 | 77 | 77 | 56 | 60 | 75 | 71 | 74 | 61 | Stage Race | 64 | 80 | 70 | 64 | 75 | 76 | 79 | 56 | 60 | 74 | 69 | 69 | 64 |
Pascal Eenkhoorn | Loaned-Out
Age: 23 | Level: 3 Just like last season, Eenkhoorn will spend another season on loan, this time with Nordstrom, to continue his development. A more well-rounded rider compared to Inkelaar, he should become our designated leader for the future in hybrid climbing races.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 69 | 73 | 70 | 65 | 72 | 74 | 76 | 65 | 64 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 71 | Climber v1 | 70 | 78 | 75 | 66 | 74 | 76 | 80 | 65 | 64 | 74 | 73 | 67 | 72 | Climber v2 | 70 | 78 | 72 | 65 | 77 | 78 | 78 | 65 | 64 | 72 | 71 | 71 | 71 | Stage Race | 71 | 78 | 73 | 69 | 76 | 77 | 80 | 65 | 64 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 75 |
Ide Schelling | In-house
Age: 22 | Level: 1 New signing Schelling is another Dutch climbing talent, who is a slightly weaker version of Eenkhoorn. However, he can easily follow a development path to be slightly better than both Inkelaar and Eenkhoorn in stage races.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 69 | 68 | 67 | 63 | 69 | 69 | 65 | 63 | 62 | 66 | 71 | 66 | 65 | Climber v1 | 70 | 77 | 75 | 64 | 72 | 73 | 72 | 63 | 62 | 73 | 79 | 67 | 66 | Climber v2 | 70 | 77 | 70 | 63 | 77 | 76 | 69 | 63 | 62 | 70 | 76 | 74 | 65 | Stage Race | 72 | 77 | 72 | 70 | 76 | 74 | 72 | 63 | 62 | 67 | 72 | 67 | 72 |
Gorazd Per | Stagiare
Age: 23 | Level: 2 Gorazd Per follows in his brother's footsteps to spend some (or all) of his development with us. He should develop into a handy helper in cobbles, and depending on which path we take, either a classics domestique or a TTT rider.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 68 | 65 | 66 | 67 | 67 | 68 | 61 | 69 | 65 | 71 | 63 | 68 | 67 | Cobbles | 72 | 65 | 67 | 67 | 73 | 72 | 64 | 75 | 69 | 72 | 64 | 68 | 67 | Fabian | 72 | 65 | 67 | 71 | 73 | 72 | 64 | 75 | 65 | 72 | 64 | 68 | 71 | Classics | 72 | 65 | 70 | 67 | 71 | 71 | 64 | 75 | 65 | 71 | 68 | 69 | 67 |
Cristian Scaroni | Stagiare
Age: 23 | Level: 2 Scaroni is a puncher talent for the future, who is built in the same mould as ex-rider Hofstede.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 66 | 68 | 70 | 63 | 69 | 67 | 65 | 65 | 64 | 69 | 67 | 68 | 62 | Puncher | 67 | 71 | 76 | 63 | 73 | 70 | 68 | 65 | 65 | 73 | 71 | 69 | 62 | Climber v1 | 66 | 74 | 74 | 63 | 70 | 70 | 69 | 65 | 64 | 73 | 73 | 69 | 62 | Stage Race | 67 | 74 | 73 | 67 | 73 | 71 | 71 | 65 | 64 | 70 | 67 | 68 | 66 |
Marten Kooistra | Stagiare
Age: 23 | Level: 1 Primarily a sprinter who should be a good leadout on flat stages, Kooistra's development can make him into a handy cobbles helper as well.
Stats | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 2020 | 69 | 59 | 64 | 58 | 68 | 66 | 57 | 66 | 70 | 70 | 61 | 62 | 63 | Sprinter | 76 | 59 | 65 | 58 | 73 | 67 | 69 | 71 | 77 | 77 | 61 | 63 | 63 | Track-Sprint | 76 | 59 | 65 | 59 | 69 | 71 | 68 | 66 | 77 | 77 | 61 | 63 | 70 | Cobbles | 74 | 59 | 65 | 58 | 75 | 71 | 64 | 73 | 75 | 71 | 62 | 62 | 63 |
About four seasons from now, this is perhaps how we will look like as our talents develop to their full capabilities. This is only an indication though, as the development paths of the riders might change depending on the situation.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The future is bright for Philips

Quite funny that (even though on loan out) Inkelaar and Eenkhorn are in one team. Plus Schelling as well.
Last year when I added them I tried to make both decent but totally different.
Inkelaar was supposed to become one of those weird MG riders with a great skillset but one dimensional. Not as bad as some of the mid 50`s flat and mountain only but still more like Henao Montoya/Keizer without a TT while Eenkhorn was supposed to become the more complete but less strong version.
With Gesink/Keizer/Dekker on the decline already or soon, Olivier being 28 on his prime now with Goos around but not trained, it basically was only Oomen left for a future Dutch GT podium rider despite lots of teams in that area.
So last year those two were added to give some more Dutch climbing skills for the future alongside Oomen plus Schelling this year and a bit weaker.
In the end I really should have gone for one of them, but did not have the money left last season for talents unfortunately. Looks like 5-10 years ago when Cio/heine got all the German talents and CountArach all the Belgium ones, you are the new climbing house for the Dutch. |

@redordead: Hope the present sorts itself out so that the future can take flight.
@roturn: Cio still gets all the talents, right?
I guess I was lucky last season that I got them both for a low wage. Otherwise I would've probably gone for only one. Schelling this time was more a calculated risk on a rider who can go at 50k early in FAs and it paid off.

National Championships - Ecuador - Jefferson Cepeda Hernandez It is not often that a Level 1 rider gets to wear a National Champion's jersey but such is the case with Cepeda Hernandez, who won his country's Road Race National Championships on a cobbled course. We thought the special occasion deserved a special jersey and our designer the_hoyle delivered big time!
We think this is a incredible looking jersey, and probably one of our favourites among all the jerseys that we've sported. A big thank you to the_hoyle for this excellent creation.
While we have already unveiled the team jersey earlier, we wanted to show it off one more time along with the NC.

It's time to reveal the goals the team will be aiming for this season. Going into the transfer season, we were quite sure about the direction we wanted to take, which was to keep Kelderman as the primary leader, and build a team around him to achieve promotion at the first attempt. As such, we played it safe with our goals, and all of them revolve around our leading man as the primary source of achieving them.
The first race of the season, is our first goal, and is also a Win goal! Kelderman leads our second CT campaign and we hope he will set the ball rolling right away. He will have a good team in support and we hope we can get off to a positive start.
Another Win goal, and another race where Kelderman will lead. We expect him to be in contention for the win in this race, and hope he can go all the way.
A stage race Top 5 goal for Kelderman to go with the two goals in classics. We will also be bringing sprinter(s) for the first two stages and we hope that this will be a lucrative race for us.
Once again, Kelderman being the best puncher in the division nudged us to pick this goal for his and our benefit. We played it a bit safe, and did not pick a Win goal here, to ensure a higher chance of achieving it.
Our primary target this year is immediate promotion back to the PCT. Anything beyond that is a bonus. Our Top 5 goal in the CT standings is in accordance with our primary target for the season.

Sounds like really achievable goals for you. Especially the three Top 5 goals shouldn't be too hard to reach. Win goals are always a matter of luck (besides the obvious quality Kelderman brings), and you'll definitely have some competition in those races
Good luck - and I hope we won't meet in CT again next year

@Fabianski: The idea was to try to get 5/5 goals this time to be able to be best prepared for next season. You are right about the win goals though, they need a bit of luck. Maybe we'll still meet next season, you never know

I think three of the goals are an instant check, with the two win goals probably as well, but as Fabianski said they are always a matter of luck as well Don't forget about us when you're a big shot in PCT next season

It must be nice making goals when you have a guy like Kelderman in CT.

It is time to reveal this year's calendar that the team will be racing. No surprises that most of our focus has been to maximize the outputs of Kelderman and Keinath, while Van Lerberghe, Dumoulin and the three man sprint team have a more open schedule. The exact leader schedules will be revealed at a later date.
Start | End | Race | Category | 10-Jan | | GP Yekaterinburg | C2HC | 22-Jan | 31-Jan | Vuelta al Tachira | C2 | 31-Jan | | Great Ocean Road Classic | C2HC | 4-Feb | | Viana do Castelo | C1 | 6-Feb | | Gent - Wevelgem | C2HC | 8-Feb | 10-Feb | Hong Kong Challenge | C1 | 9-Feb | | GP Herning | C2 | 20-Feb | | Colombo Classic | C2 | 28-Feb | | Trofeo Laigueglia | C2HC | 3-Mar | | Roma Maxima | C1 | 22-Mar | 27-Mar | Tour of Eritrea | C2HC | 30-Mar | | Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne | HC | 8-Apr | | Betonexpressz GP | C2HC | 10-Apr | | GP Izola | C2 | 19-Apr | | Coppa Placci | C2 | 24-Apr | | Lincoln GP | C2HC | 28-Apr | | Lisbon Classic | C1 | 1-May | | 1 Jour de Dunkerque | C2 | 11-May | 13-May | Tour du Faso | C2HC | 15-May | | Malopolski Wyscig | C1 | 24-May | | Frankfurt Eschborn | C2 | 2-Jun | 8-Jun | Tour of Vancouver | C2HC | 10-Jun | 14-Jun | Post Danmark Rundt | C2HC | 27-Jun | | Clasique Pico Basile | C2 | 30-Jun | | Clasico San Cristobal | C2 | 1-Jul | | Torshavn GP | C1 | 1-Jul | 8-Jul | Tour de San Luis | C2 | 11-Jul | 17-Jul | Tour de Langkawi | C2HC | 16-Jul | | Sakartvelo Trophy | C2 | 19-Jul | 21-Jul | Tour of Chile | C2 | 24-Jul | | Vilnius GP | C2HC | 27-Jul | 30-Jul | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | C2 | 1-Aug | 6-Aug | Benelux Challenge | C1 | 7-Aug | 13-Aug | Tour de Vineyards | C2 | 9-Aug | | Rio Vista Chinesa | C2 | 21-Aug | | Ronde van Het Ijsselmeer | C1 | 1-Sep | | Philadelphia International Championship | C2HC | 10-Sep | 13-Sep | Euskal Bizikleta | C2HC | 23-Sep | | Transfagarasan GP | C2HC | 23-Sep | | Lillestrom GP | C2 | 29-Sep | | Milano - Torino | C1 | 1-Oct | | GP Kigali | C2 | 3-Oct | | GP Lugano | C1 | 6-Oct | 10-Oct | Herald Sun Tour | C2HC | 6-Oct | 9-Oct | Course de Solidarnosc | C2HC | 12-Oct | 15-Oct | Bayern Rundfahrt | C1 | 18-Oct | | Zuri Metzgete | C2HC | 18-Oct | | Giro dell'Emelia | HC |

It is time to reveal the race schedules of our designated leaders. It was quite clear even before transfers, that Kelderman would be staying with us, and we picked our hills calendar keeping the same in mind. Once Keinath was secured, the mountains and stage races planning took shape. Van Lerberghe was also always expected to stay. However, his planning was trickier, given the lack of cobbled race days in the Continental Tour. The same was the case with Dumoulin, but he was slotted in to every stage race with a TT as well as races where he is the team leader. The sprinters have been split up more in terms of the profile of stages, with Van der Sanden concentrating on pan-flat classics and stage races, while Boev will be racing more in the harder classics and a couple of stage races with harder sprint favoured stages. Kreder will split leadout duties between his two leaders.
Wilco Kelderman | Puncher Start | End | Race | Category | 10-Jan | | GP Yekaterinburg | C2HC | 8-Feb | 10-Feb | Hong Kong Challenge | C1 | 20-Feb | | Colombo Classic | C2 | 28-Feb | | Trofeo Laigueglia | C2HC | 10-Apr | | GP Izola | C2 | 19-Apr | | Coppa Placci | C2 | 30-Jun | | Clasico San Cristobal | C2 | 1-Jul | 8-Jul | Tour de San Luis | C2 | 9-Aug | | Rio Vista Chinesa | C2 | 10-Sep | 13-Sep | Euskal Bizikleta | C2HC | 29-Sep | | Milano - Torino | C1 | 3-Oct | | GP Lugano | C1 | 18-Oct | | Giro dell'Emelia | HC |
Quite straightforward calendar for Kelderman, with Hong Kong possibly being the only odd one out. We were looking to get wildcards for races like Strade Bianche and GP Cyclistes, but there was no slot available for CT teams in those races.
**Races marked in bold are Goal races.
Nico Keinath | Stage Racer/Climber Start | End | Race | Category | 22-Jan | 31-Jan | Vuelta al Tachira | C2 | 22-Mar | 27-Mar | Tour of Eritrea | C2HC | 2-Jun | 8-Jun | Tour of Vancouver | C2HC | 27-Jun | | Clasique Pico Basile | C2 | 11-Jul | 17-Jul | Tour de Langkawi | C2HC | 19-Jul | 21-Jul | Tour of Chile | C2 | 7-Aug | 13-Aug | Tour de Vineyards | C2 | 23-Sep | | Transfagarasan GP | C2HC | 12-Oct | 15-Oct | Bayern Rundfahrt | C1 |
A straight-forward calendar for Keinath as well, once we decided to take the leap of faith and use the 10 RDs in Tachira. We're excited to see how he goes in his home race Bayern Rundfahrt, against PCT oppositon.

It became a little difficult to properly fill Van Lerberghe's races but we eventually managed to do so, and are happy with the result. Besides leading our Northern Classics challenge, he will also accompany the sprinters in multiple flat races.
Geert Van Sander | Sprinter Start | End | Race | Category | 22-Jan | 31-Jan | Vuelta al Tachira | C2 | 9-Feb | | GP Herning | C2 | 8-Apr | | Betonexpressz GP | C2HC | 15-May | | Malopolski Wyscig | C1 | 24-May | | Frankfurt Eschborn | C2 | 1-Jul | 8-Jul | Tour de San Luis | C2 | 11-Jul | 17-Jul | Tour de Langkawi | C2HC | 24-Jul | | Vilnius GP | C2HC | 27-Jul | 30-Jul | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | C2 | 7-Aug | 13-Aug | Tour de Vineyards | C2 | 21-Aug | | Ronde van Het Ijsselmeer | C1 | 23-Sep | | Lillestrom GP | C2 | 6-Oct | 9-Oct | Course de Solidarnosc | C2HC | 18-Oct | | Zuri Metzgete | C2HC |
Van der Sanden leads the team in pan-flat classics and most of the stage races with multiple flat stages. He is also scheduled to help out Van Lerberghe in a few Northern Classics.
Igor Boev | Sprinter Start | End | Race | Category | 31-Jan | | Great Ocean Road Classic | C2HC | 4-Feb | | Viana do Castelo | C1 | 6-Feb | | Gent - Wevelgem | C2HC | 3-Mar | | Roma Maxima | C1 | 22-Mar | 27-Mar | Tour of Eritrea | C2HC | 30-Mar | | Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne | HC | 10-Apr | | GP Izola | C2 | 28-Apr | | Lisbon Classic | C1 | 11-May | 13-May | Tour du Faso | C2HC | 2-Jun | 8-Jun | Tour of Vancouver | C2HC | 10-Jun | 14-Jun | Post Danmark Rundt | C2HC | 1-Jul | | Torshavn GP | C1 | 19-Jul | 21-Jul | Tour of Chile | C2 | 1-Aug | 6-Aug | Benelux Challenge | C1 | 1-Sep | | Philadelphia International Championship | C2HC | 6-Oct | 10-Oct | Herald Sun Tour | C2HC | 12-Oct | 15-Oct | Bayern Rundfahrt | C1 |
Boev is tasked with leading the team in harder flat classics and in those stage races where the sprint stages are considered more bumpy. He will also accompany Van Lerberghe in some cobbled races. An interesting race on his calendar is GP Izola, where he could have an outside shot in case the race is calm on the hills.

Wherever there is an Individual or a Team Time Trial, Dumoulin will ride. For the rest of his race days , he riders mostly with the sprint team, and also rides Emelia in support of Kelderman.

Needless to say probably, our leaders have very similar schedules. I suppose that's to be expected in CT. See you out on the road!

Surprised (and pretty happy) to not see Kelderman in Zürich, so we'll actually have a real shot at reaching our win goal
Needless to say that him an Moscon will meet at pretty much all other races, though, so we'll probably mostly be fighting for 2nd places
