Volta ao Algarve, 5 Stages:
Stage 3, Lagoa - Lagos:
The experts say that it should be seen as a flat stage but something tells me that I should up the pace a bit on the climb to hurt some sprinters, because of that we managed to take out Baumann and Casper but the others were still there, after the climb other teams took over so that they could catch these guys:
Sneeboer, Mengin and Castanheira would get caught with 30 kms to go
So another sprint in the Algarve region, Costa couldn't make it three in a row as he was surprised by an Italian, Costa ended 2nd just in front of Van Heerden who gained 1 seconds because of that and in this sprinters fest that can be of great importance in the GC, the winner was:
Cristian Moreni surprises Costa and so he can be beaten it appears (Casper came back in the last kms and still ended 4th)
Result:
1. Cristian Moreni COFIDIS, LE CRÉDIT PAR TÉLÉPHONE 5h12'13
2. Pedro Costa VITÓRIA - ASC s.t.
3. Juan Van Heerden BARLOWORLD s.t.
4. Jimmy Casper UNIBET.COM s.t.

25 Geert Steurs PREDICTOR - LOTTO s.t.
Stage 4, Vila Real de Santo Antonio - Loule:
The hardest stage in the tour but it is not extremely hard so I'm confident that Van Heerden and Sabido will present in the final 'sprint' A break was created with 2 Barlo's in it because first Cox was lonely in front and later Longo Borghini joined him with 3 others
They didnt stand a chance, but these 2 could come in handy
Why? because in the back the group fell apart and only 25 riders were present in the first group, in order to make it work Cox and Longo Borghini co operated with the Vitoria team but with 8 kms to go the 2nd group joined because of FDjeux and Cofidis, Sabido and Van Heerden are perfectly placed but they both weren't able to win, Sabido ends 3rd as they are suprised by...well
Left: An Astana rider surprise the Barlo mini train, Right: Talking about irony, Kessler wins...
Result:
1. Matthias Kessler ASTANÁ 4h50'40
2. Cristian Moreni COFIDIS, LE CRÉDIT PAR TÉLÉPHONE s.t.
3. Hugo Sabido BARLOWORLD s.t.

24 Carlos Barredo QUICK STEP - INNERGETIC s.t.
25 Igor Astarloa TEAM MILRAM s.t.
Stage 5, Vila de Bispo - Portimao:
Costa still had a 9 second lead over Moreni and it looks like, unless something weird happens, that Costa wins this race. Van Heerden and Sabido are respectively 4th and 5th thanks to boniseconds and it looks like it will stay that way which is nice because you also get points for these place Everyone agrees that this final stage should be a sprint and so all sprinters get ready for the last time!
Left: Van Heerden in the u25 jersey trying to follow Costa, Right: Costa certainly is the best in this Volta ao Algarve
Result:
1. Pedro Costa VITÓRIA - ASC 4h30'21
2. Jimmy Casper UNIBET.COM s.t.

February Review:
Decent month for us while Tinus' jewel Nicacio won in Cuba and Sammele's Sohrabi won in Sharm-El-Sheikh, also Alex had success as Failli won the GP Costa Degli Etrushi and at last Spieker's Petrov won the tour de Mediterraneen
CT Rankings:
1. Barloworld 308
2. Relax - GAM 305
3. Tinkoff Credit Systems 295
4. Letua Cycling Team 268
5. Islamic Azad University 250
And in the latest news, Barloworld earned itself a wildcard for both Milano San Remo and Tirreno Adriatico

yep Giro is our main goal and TDF as well, depending on how we will be ranked in the CT rankings the Vuelta might also be in the plans

Giro is more realistic. Barloworld is based in Italy and has a bunch of italian riders

Justin signed the younger Ardila brother

British license. just like Panaria has an Irish license. just like Astana has a swiss license. etc etc etc. Barloworld is actually south-african (hence why they send every single one of their best riders to trounce the field every year at the Giro del Capo)
also, it's based in italy, so all the mechanics, DSs, a lot of riders, etc etc are italian

GP Chiasso
This is the 1st race for Cardenas, Arreitunandia and Efimkin and the last one will immediatly be our leader here
A tough criterium in this beautiful region but the weather ain't nice at all, the rain causes many falls in the downhill sections and Cox, Serrano and Illiano are only a few who felt the tarmac on this rainy day. It stays quiet for a while but 25 kms to go it is John Gadret from AG2R who takes off, several riders respond to this attack but only 1 is able to reach him
Left: Gadret is the first to attack! Right: From T-Mobile Axel Merckx joins him while Grivko comes up short
The 2 work well and it turns out that the early attack from Gadret pays off, but not entirely as it's his breakaway companion who takes the win in rainy Switzerland. Efimkin breaks away from the pack with 10 kms to go and ends 6th, not bad considering it's Aleksandr's first race.
Axel Merckx beats the mountainbiker Gadret fair and square
Result:
1. Axel Merckx T-MOBILE TEAM 5h01'50
2. John Gadret AG2R PRÉVOYANCE s.t.
3. Andrei Grivko TEAM MILRAM + 34
4. Bernhard Kohl GEROLSTEINER + 1'33

GP di Lugano
Cardenas and Arreitunandia felt too good to race in the rain on a sunday and so Ardila and Marquez replaced them
Overall not so tough as yesterday's stage but it's almost certain that a strong attack on the final climb will be the key to success, there is a break but this one is quickly caught and as expected the favourites attack on the final climb, this time Bernard Kohl has the strongest attack as he leaves 8 others behind, those 8 don't work really well so can we already give the young Austrian the win?
Bernard Kohl looking strong
In the descent his lead stays 14 secs and it gets a bit smaller every km, Efimkin meanwhile tried to become a part of the group behind Kohl but he failed and so he crossed the finish on his own in 10th place, up front Kohl fought for every inch but is it enough to beat the others?
Gerdemann has a very strong sprint, but luckily for Kohl the judges decide that it's the Austrian who wins
Result:
1. Bernhard Kohl GEROLSTEINER 4h31'02
2. Linus Gerdemann T-MOBILE TEAM s.t.
3. Alessandro Proni QUICK STEP - INNERGETIC s.t.
4. Andrei Grivko TEAM MILRAM s.t.
