That was a great finish from Gerrans, looks to be in pretty good shape. Adding the bonus seconds, he'll have a nice little buffer going into tomorrow.
Hope to see a few surprises tomorrow going up Willunga.

Interestingly according to PCS both Dennis and Porte lost 8 seconds today.
Those stupid seconds could come back to haunt them!

Woods as well in that 8s gap. Though Cannondale tweeted that they got confirmation he was within the same time. So probably he wasn`t.
8s in such race can in the end make a huge difference. Every second counts. Really sucks for those. |

Swift coming second in the sprint, still think this proves he's a bit better than people are making him out to be.

He's a better climber (hills) than sprinter nowdays.

Why? It's not like this has been anything to take note of when you look at that awkward sprint by half of the bunch. He was beaten by Gerrans easily over a bike length, yet still was the entire sprint in Gerrans' slipstream. If anything is noteworthy it's how aimlessly Nizzolo is sprinting when even McCarthy can easily hold the Italians' wheel.

Boring? Perhaps but he still keeps winning races so I doubt he really cares if it's boring or not

Portechkin is a machine up that climb. Doesn't take the overall I don't think. Hamilton and Bennett with a nice attack before little richie fired up
EDIT: Yes, GC is Gerrans/Porte/Henao/McCarthy/Woods after Dennis got absolutely Dumoulin'd on the last stage. Bevin in 10th GC as well <3

Porte might be a washout when it comes to GT's but he really is a pretty classy rider.
Bevin was impressive here and that's no surprise, think he will struggle as the year wears on much like Haas did when he stepped upto WT but in a season or 2 Bevin will win races

Porte really is a Willunga king - it is strange how he has won Willunga three times but yet to win the race.
Gerrans though has proved me wrong old farts rule - especially when he has top notch support and still has great sprinting legs.
TdU is getting somewhat repetative - that is not necessarily a bad thing - I do wonder if cycling people think this is all Australia is like! Guess it is difficult with Oz Open and cricket season happening, but could be nice to go to Tazzy one year for example?

It wouldn't work moving it at this stage, the whole attraction of holding in South Australia is that the teams can base themselves in one hotel the whole time and you just couldn't do that in any other state in Australia. They can easily mix up the route by using the Adelaide hills better as there are many varied climbs through the area. The best place to hold the TDU would be in Victoria, every year could be different without having to put to much imagination into it, just look at the route for this years Sun Tour to get a glimpse of what the area has to offer. Tasmania would be good but once would exhaust what you could do down there.

They really should rename this climb to Richie Porte Hill! 3 consecutive wins here is truly incredible and all of them pretty much the same way. Attack at 1km and then sprinting up without a break. Brilliant. BMC did well to go for him today even though Dennis was in a bit better position.
Those 8s loss for some riders yesterday also didn`t really play a role. Porte would still be +1 to Gerrans. Only Woods would have passed McCarthy. But nothing that changed the GC winner, which is good imo.
UniSA really impressive with the Hamilton`s on this climb. Hadn`t expected this.
Henao and Woods the best uphill riders in the whole race I`d say. Being on top of it on both hard climbs.
Regarding my Fantasy League team it`s great to see Woods and Fernandez up there with the best, while Pantano, Haas and Taaramae did not have the form it seems. |

So basically Porte does the same thing for three years and whilst he wins the stage, he always fails to take the GC. Make of that fact what you will.

I'd really love to see Portechkin crush Skyborgs in one of the grand tours. |

Take Porte out of a Sky jersey and I find myself liking him much more. Slightly disappointed that He didn't take the GC after Gerrans time bonuses...

There's no way SA would give it to Victoria since they bought the F1 off them already.
