The info on the races twitter account indeed suddenly goes from GVA 10" infront to Yates in front.
Damn that's awful I feel bad about the post I made earlier. What is going on with cars and motorbikes the last two years. 5 years ago I can't recall anything similar happening?!!!
So I guess Greg Van Avermaet is back to being unlucky and unable to win a race again.
Obviously there are some logistical and technological headaches to overcome when it comes to filming entire races via aerial drones but for narrow, short, steep climbs like this, also close to the finish, surely it is a possibility these days. Would help to try and limit the number of vehicles taking up space on such a climb, even if someone would probably find a way to drop a drone on the race instead...
Calm down peeps, its just one mayor fuckup (I guess two in the same race), no need to demote this race. Especially since Spanish cycling needs it badly after +half their calender was removed.
Strade WT? Hell yea, please. The race I enjoy the most out of all 'cobbled' races or whatever surface they ride on.

actually this years debacle in broadcasting and running over Van Avermaet could cost San Sebastian it's WT Status.
Maybe the London race might get WT
Not sure about that. Its a bit of a dull race. In the UK we like to include London in everything. To be honest it fits the final stage of the tour of britain as a Champs Elysee clone finish, but the London "classic" is lacking, and that TdF2014 stage 3 was just bullshit.
Not seen the race, but would GVA have been able to hold his lead with 600m of climbing remaining? He's no mountain goat!
Anyway, Yates is awesome second or not feel bad for GVA though

Comical incident. Particularly with the fact that they all went down. Thankfully it was at low speeds on the climb so not like the cobbled races this year.
Not very funny for poor old Greg/BMC though. Pity Yates will feel a bit like he was given the win rather than earned it, but he was up there last year we he crashed trying to keep up with Valverde on the last descent. Or was it his brother?

Strade Bianchi is a brilliant race. Interesting parcours, usually eventful racing and beautiful scenery.
