No luck for the breakaway, like at all. Looks like Tour peloton is still right in the mood of Giro racing, full throttle and real racing all the way. Kristoff and DegenStache will be a good duo to fight out green with Sagan.

You need as many fresh riders on the TTT as possible so using flat-beasts to the bottom in first week could prove very expensive later on.
Yeah, you have a point, but those other teams use as much (the big other 3 teams) and while those riders gotta contribute, the finishing 5 riders on the ITT on Tinkoff is pretty straightfoward: Kreuz, Majka, Sagan, Rogers and Contador.
That doesn't mean that the 4 dropped riders won't mean all the difference as they still contribute with all they have to the team before dropping. The sooner they have to drop the sooner the other five will have to work, which will result in a slower finish time. Not to mention being more vulnerable to accidents.
It's a fine balance and why I love the placement of the TTT this year.
Spilak: True, but if they plan to ride the first week here like they did in the Giro it will get hard in the end...

Peloton is so busy to keep their leader at the front..
for that tempo is super fast..any breakaway attempt is doomed really fast. |

No problem.
I hope he loses some time in the next few days. Then he can go do what he does best: go in breaks and try to win a stage!
I'm a strange kind of fan of De Gendt |
