Lovely how badly the chauvinistic reporters of Eurosport France want Latour to hang on |

That's why he is the greatest stage racer of our generation.

Seems to care enough to want to grab away the KoM points.

I think Contador has realized Quintana and Froome and this point (especially after doing the Giro) are better climbers in a TdF-setup. He needs to find time elsewhere, so crosswinds, cobbles and descents it is I guess. Same with Nibali.

It was always meant to be this way.
Q getting back to Contador now. If Q gets back, maybe Latour manages too.

Yeah, well, ppl will say he is not taking full risk but Quintana seems to be no top notch descender. Are there gonna be some TdF stages where the downhill can be decisive?
This is some impressive downhill racing by Contador. He's got it bar crashes.

Nah he definetely isnt that good on descents. Better than Froome and worse than Conta and Nibbles.
Stage 11 down Tourmalet, stage 17 to Pra Loup and possibly stage 19 down Croix de Fer and Mollard I would say |

As soon as Contador is free of Oleg Tinkov's genius race tactics he wins a stage. Go figure. (and yeah, Route du Sud is obviously not Giro but whatever)
Thanks Riis, will be good stages then.

Yeah, Manse is also a possibily, and so i stage 18 down Glandon, up Montvernier and down again. But the obvious is the stage to Pra Loup |

Reassuring race from Nairo, only managed to catch the last few kms of the climb but he looked very comfortable and it will probably worry Contador that he looks unable to drop him, it certainly felt like he had set out to glue himself to Contador on the climb and not let him get away at all. He is a decent descender actually, though due to the lack of proper descent finishes these days I'm not sure whether he still possesses that fearless confidence and descending skills from that Dauphine stage down from the Joux-Plane a few years ago.
Nevertheless, in the Tour, if he makes it through the first week unscathed and without any significant time loss he should surely be the favourite. It's a big if, though, as that first week will see so many GC guys fall by the wayside.

No, Contador is mentally too strong. Maybe you can unnerve someone like Froome by sticking to his wheel (Dauphine '14), but if anything for Contador this is only more motivation. No worries for a champion tho.
He still has some kilos to drop for Tour best shape and has said that he's still tired from Giro, plenty of time to prepare for le Tour tho. Seeing him with this immense will to win such a small prep race skyrockets my expectations for Tour into heights neither Dauphine nor Suisse have succeeded in.
