23 and 24th overall isn't horrible Naud in the break again and another top 5 I'm happy with though |

A shame for Reus and Bibby in particular. This race has been.. well... weird enough... Expect some more stuff on final day

See I could deal with failing my goal. I could deal with losing points due to breakaways. But my entire team getting caught in a split? Has Avin been stealing my luck?
Anyway, it'll be over soon. Then I'm on holiday so I have just short of a week of blissful ignorance |

What luck, Ignatiev is just beasty and luck would be winning all stages.
But yeah, we got a bit lucky with that echelons and Popkov moving to great 12th spot in GC, we were simply attentive enough. Shame to see Reus and Bibby moving backwards though.
Last stage will be hopefully more controlled and secure.

Just see Roy as a top10 contender lost 5 mins, when Castaneda as a sprinter remained in the first group |

I dont agree, at least the GC winner and whole top5 were not a fluke, but of course PCM13 AI is shit, that is nothing new. (well, pcm 14 too)
Now tell me something about luck Jph_27.
Anyway great race for Metinvest especially in the first half, resulting in GC win, point jersey, three podiums, 14th in GC for Popkov and maybe a teams classification, not sure how it will be recalculated there.
Ignatiev is done racing for the season, in the end quite successful one, at least he won that GC in any race in his last start in 2014 season.
Thanks for the reports Smowz!

Oh my.... thanks for the reports, Smowzy. But this was a poor race, to say at least. So many random riders inside the GC's Top-15... oh well...
Anyway: missed win-goal for Oz, but Bobridge somehow riding to an invisible 2nd is still fine. Like many other teams, we definitely had hoped for more points through stages, but this was not meant to be (except of the TT).. So Ignatiev crushing it, a few breakaways crushing it and Visconti dropping from 14th to 16th today.
Gratz Avin, we all told ya, your season wasn't over

What a terrible race why the **** Anderson decide to lose 4 mins for no reason to move from 24th to 39th overall is stupid and damn right annoying why we are not in the break in the first place if we are not going to chase for docker is another question basically unimpressed with this team |

Only 4th and 6th for Compal in the two last stages. What a complete waste of racedays.
Anyway, great reporting Smowz, we'll come back stronger next year.
Big congrats to Jph for the stage win and Avin for GC-victory!

2 stage wins, but we failed our goal by 8 places. And the constant breakaway wins cost us many points. So I'm both happy and unhappy.
Thanks for the reports Smowz |

Despite not getting a single good stage result, the race has been quite successful. Craven did well in keeping up with the best punchers on the hill stages. 4th place is great, and we end up losing a lot less points to Bacardi and CSC than I feared after the 1st stage.
Thanks for the reports, Smowz!

And I'm gaining less points on Bacardi, CSC and Venchi than I expected prior to the race
Anyway, should make for an interesting promotion battle. So I will look at the bright side of life!

Second Second place for Lloyd in this race, and he missed the Top10 by only 5 seconds to finish 11th. I will very very happily take those results and those precious precious points. Time time

Thanks for all the positive response to the reports - found it a bit difficult to fit in if I am honest, but I wanted to try and get a stage race in before the end of the season - to see how I could handle it with my current life situation (newish job and 18 month year old!). Enjoyed it - though at the end of this race the finishes were very meh... Sorry for the Puma lack of bike graphics and endless name spelling errors software I use for reports keeps attempting auto corrects all over the place.
This race showed some really poor AI. Basically the wind got up to around '40' and teams sort of stopped chasing with about 12km to go. Similarly on the hilly stages teams who should have been chasing started chasing far too late.

Thanks for the reports, Smowz!
AI-wise, this race was just plain bad. In the end, i can't really complain as Ulissi ended up finishing 3rd, but without the breakaways, we could have had 2 stage wins & maybe even second place in the GC. Also losing the second place in the points rankings to a breakaway rider. It might be a minor thing, but seeing as how close spots 3-6 could end up in the rankings, it might end up mattering.
But like i said, i ended up coming out with the better, as it could have turned out much worse.
