TI RALEIGH

"Among the teams that have somehow made the history of the Tour de France one can not dedicate a space to those who in the space of eight editions of the race has managed to win the beauty of 56 stage wins, on average 7 year: we are talking Dutchman Ti-Raleigh manager Peter Post. Founded in 1974, the Ti-Raleigh has landed in the Tour de France for the first time in 1976 and immediately stamped his mark on the race: the four victories stands the team time trial of Louvain, a specialty in which the Dutch dominate in later years with other six victories. The Grande Boucle is the year of grace 1980: Joop Zoetemelk, the first year in the team, finally arrives in Paris wearing the yellow jersey, the team wins with 11 stages (3 with Jan Raas, with 2 Zoetemelk, 1 with Gerrie Knetemann, Bert Oosterbosch, Henk Lubberding and Cees Priem and again 2 team time trial) and Johan Van der Velde is the first in the ranking of the young. In addition to the aforementioned runners team Peter Post had with him also champions such as Hennie Kuiper and Dietrich Thurau, or Leo Van Vliet, Ludo Peeters, Frank Hoste and Peter Winnen. At the end of 1983 because of disagreements between Jan Raas and Peter Post's team is divided and virtually ending an era: in addition to the successes in the Tour, in 10 years came two World Championships, two Flanders, a Roubaix, 4 Gent-Wevelgem, 4 Amstel Gold Race, 3 tour de Suisse"

CARRERA

"Claudio Chiappucci wins in Val Louron front of Miguel Indurain in the Tour 1991 © centerlinerule.blogspot.itHa did dream, discuss, snorting, launched champions, won perhaps less than was to be expected. The Carrera was born in 1979 with the name of Inoxpran under the guidance of David Boifava. Already in 1981 comes a double success: Giovanni Battaglin won the Vuelta and the Giro in 1983 while Roberto Visentini grazing the victory in the Giro (will be 2 °). In 1984 he took over the sponsor Carrera. Important 1986, when he won the Tour of Italy Visentini. The following year is presented to the Giro with the intention to give an encore, but there is also the Irishman Stephen Roche, that the debut season with the team did not shine and wants to rebuild. He had brought the pink jersey for ten days, then Visentini had impoto of San Marino in the time trial, beating the specialists and inflicting 2'47 "to Roche. It is the same Irish in Lido di Jesolo-Sappada attacks unexpectedly Visentini in the descent from the fork Monte Rest. the Carrera is split in two. Visentini close to twice that of Roche towards Sappada attacks again and there Visentini, after a heated argument with the ds David Boifava, spring moorings and Roche will pay a 6'50 ", with the Irish in pink. And it is in 1987 that the same Roche will match the Tour victory at the Tour, the only obtained in his existence from Carrera. Roche leaves the team in 1987 to switch to Fagor-MBK (back to close the career seasons in '92 and '93) and so Claudio Chiappucci, in 1987 wingman Visentini and Roche, is the space. At the Tour of '90 is 2nd in '91 goes on the run towards Val Louron with the first Indurain, winning the stage (at Navarro mesh); close 3rd in general. In 1992 and again 2nd, as in '91, won the polka dot jersey of best climber. In those years is growing young Marco Pantani. In light Giro since '94, when he put on the cross Indurain and Berzin, finishing 2nd behind the Russian, the Tour '95 won two stages (Alpe d'Huez and Guzet-neige) and repeating the primacy among the young, already achieved in '94. In '96, after getting a yellow jersey with Roche in 1987, 25 stage wins in the Tour (about Guido Bontempi, Jörgen-Vagn Pedersen, Erich Mächler, Massimo Ghirotto, Acácio da Silva, Fabio Roscioli, Claudio Chiappucci, Marco Pantani Massimo Podenzana, Stephen Roche and Djamolidine Abdoujaparov) plus three mesh polka dots (two with Chiappucci and one with Battaglin), a green jersey with Abdoujaparov, two white shirts with Pantani, Carrera withdraws sponsorship. The group splits: who will go with Pantani and Martinelli to Mercatone Uno, who will follow Chiappucci and Boifava to Asics."

Renault

" That of Renault is not just a story of cars; was in fact, between the late 70s and early 80s, the brand that has marked one of the strongest lineups ever existed at all. It all began in 1974 but at the time is still called Sonolor-Gitane following the merger between two French teams, the Gitane (bicycle company) of André Desvages and Sonolor of Jean Stablinski. In 1975 he was named sports director Cyrille Guimard, who will remain in the structure of the team until 1995, when it will close its doors. Guimard is perfect to find the talents and in fact immediately engages the Belgian Lucien Van Impe. Win the Tour de France in 1976 but despite this is not a man on whom Guimard tip for his long-term project. That's why in the same year Guimard wanted a twenty year old Breton, the Neopro 'Bernard Hinault. In '77 Renault becomes main sponsor of Gitane and consequently the jersey of the team becomes orange with black-white stripes. Will be famous. The Renault-Gitane, since 1981 Renault-Elf, benefits from a big budget and is also why the first squadron of modern cycling. Then there are the runners, not only in Europe but in 1981 Jonathan Boyer will be the first American to race the Tour de France. It was in that year that Renault enters another American, the twenty year old Greg LeMond. In '78 Hinault won the Vuelta a España and the first of the four Tour won with Renault (the fifth if he wins wearing the jersey of La Vie Claire). Hinault wins everywhere: big stage races (with this shirt won four Tour, twice the Giro and the Vuelta twice) and short (three times its the Dauphiné, once the Romandie). Also excels in Classics (two Liege, a Roubaix, a Lombardy, two Fleche Wallonne some of his victories) but in 1983 is injured a knee and was forced to miss the tour. Guimard presents the Grande Boucle without a leader and the twenty-three Laurent Fignon. Nicknamed "The Professor" for the habit of running wearing eyeglasses, Fignon, professional only for a year, take advantage of the absence of Hinault, takes the yellow jersey at Alpe d'Huez and never left it, trimming 4 '04 "per second, Ángel Arroyo. in 1984, Hinault, after disagreements with Guimard who wants to bet everything on Fignon, accepts the assignment of the newly formed La Vie Claire, creature of another Bernard Tapie, sulphurous manager. the Tour 1984 sees Renault-Elf protagonist: he won eight stages of 23, including the team time trial Louvroil-Valenciennes, is in the yellow jersey from the fifth fraction, with Vincent Barteau, until the end, with Fignon, who dresses in yellow again to Alpe d'Huez . Piazza also two men on the podium: 1st Fignon, LeMond 3rd (and best young). in between is Hinault, for the first time beat the Grande Boucle. But in 1985 because Tapie contact LeMond reaches Hinault in La Vie Claire; LeMond, paid a million dollars, can not refuse. at the end of '85, with the recession, the Renault group sells Gitane and leaves cycling. Guimard find another sponsor, Système U (a supermarket chain). In recent years, from 1990 to 1995, the team will be called Castorama but after that date will be released from the scene chassis."
