Presidents' Trophy baby!
And what a comeback from Sens, would be so good if Pens missed the playoffs. Then Cindy and Pierre can go spoon and cry together all summer |

Was hoping the Rangers didn't win the Presidents trophy personally since they are definitely my favourite team in the East and the Presidents Trophy is normally a bit of a jinx.

That's just a myth created by people who lacks the understanding of basic math, look at the stats for it, last 30 years or so the winner of Presidents Trophy also wins SC about 1/8, i take 1/8 over 1/16 every day of the week, don't you?
Apparently the odds were even better then that

Why do the Red Wings have to make this stressful year after year now? I remember the good ol' days when the playoffs were secured weeks before they started because they were so stacked.
Although, I would much rather have Ottawa make the playoffs then either Pittsburgh or Boston. Just because the Sens deserve it after this crazy run they have been on and I can't stand the Penguins or the Bruins.

Hudler is in some amazing from in recent weeks, now he pushed Calgary to playoffs for first time since 2009 with 2+1 and Kings are without play-offs, very lame from title defenders.
In other news, Jagr with two assists and now over 1800 points, passing Francis to grab the 4th spot in history books.
#legend
There is a possibility that Jagr could once more start in the national jersey at WC in Prague, that would be some great goodbye to his national career (olympic title,3x WC title).

If Pittsburgh misses the playoffs I am going to be pissed. They played so good all year and to have this happen makes Bylsma looks better

Red Wings got a lucky opening win against the Bolts last night, so that was cool. Mrazek is one of the best goalies in the league when he is on his game, problem is he isn't very consistent.
I also bought Eastside Hockey Manager: Early Access the other day since a few of you guys mentioned it before and I saw some YouTube clips, so I thought I give it a go.
Certainly not as a polished as Football Manager (as expected) but I have to say I'm impressed with what it can do. I have gone through a season with my Wings and made it to the Conference Finals but got swept by Boston. Nyquist lead the league in scoring with 57 goals and 110 points. I want to say that's good managing, but yeah a bit unrealistic.
It has a lot of promise and is a great pickup for just $15. I recommend.

I'd say that's pretty realistic, just wait until next year, Nyquist will be a 50 goal scorer!!!
Anyway I like the game a lot so far, a lot of elements like training, etc. that are very similar to PCM. From what I've read now this is just a facelift for EHM2007, but if they do intend on making some major updates then $15 is absolutely worth it.
Shifting over to real life now, looks like Ottawa's cinderella story is going to end. Also very classless from Montreal fans for booing Stone, when your hand gets hit like that crouching over in pain is embellishment..? Give me a break. You haven't seen embellishment until you watch Embellishment City (search it up on YT), glad they are not in the playoffs this year

So the Oilers win the lottery.
Part of me wants to believe they'll finally accomplish something with their 9000 1st overall picks, but knowing the Oilers they'll fuck up McDavid with their cancerous locker room and make him a complete bust or something.

The Oilers should do McDavid and Eichel a solid and pass on both of them, so they don't ruin their careers. It's the right thing to do, like a random act of kindness sort of deal.

One of my best buds here in Kitchener (our daughters do synchro together) is an Oilers scout, and he said months ago that any other year Eichel would go 1st.
He also said McDavid is not what the Oilers need but you never turn down a player like him.
Tonight, he is gleaming, lucky bastard.

How about them Penguins!? Not even predicted to be in the playoffs, and holding a 1-1 series with the best team in Hockey. Could an upset be brewing!?

They are seen as a perennial playoff team. The only time they weren't predicted to be in the playoffs is when they had an absolutely terrible end to the season and almost fell out of the playoff spot they had which had looked safe for most of the season.

Yes, but many "experts" had them losing 4-0 to NY...

Wow, you seem so proud to lose 4-1 or 4-2 instead of 4-0...
That's like picking the worst slump of a team's season, taking the expectations at that time, and then saying, "Hey, we outperformed!!" Unfortunately, Pittsburgh's worst slump is always playoff time

Nice win for Rangers tonight, should have secured it in the first 2 periods though when we outplayed Pens badly, got a bit nervy in the end... |

Can't stop a daydreaming man i guess
Yes, I "left", but I made sure to return just in time to bash on the Thunder and the Pens, and once Shitsburgh gets eliminated I can peacefully leave ... /banter
You remember the deal we made that if you get 3/4 of the winners of the 4 major American sports, I would show my face?? .. Haha, that's not happenin
