Was about to say Pinot is as close as it got to GC contenders at +59 secs. |

Wouldn't really call them GC favorites would you?
Pinot is the best with just 3:27 after Nibali before todays loss. |

You wouldn't call Rolland a GC contender?
4th in the Giro but still hasn't earned your approval of a GC rider.
Tuff audience.
You can't call someone out on the timedifference after the cobble stage.
Probably a few of the guys who are 4-5 min down will contest for top 10 when we finish in Paris.

Not at +6:17 min after Nibali before todays stage. But hey all power to you if you still think of Rolland as a contender for the GC.
But if you say GC and mean top 10 then yes those two could be considered, i assumed he asked about top 1.

It's not about them being favourites or not, what they certainly arn't (anymore). He asked for any of the General Classification guys, and - despite their time loss (Rolland is ill btw) - they have still the reputation of being solid GC riders.

Purito has been losing time since Stage 1, he's only riding Tour for the race kilometers and later stage wins. I love my daily Purito, hanging around on the back of the peloton, not caring about anything at all.

Lol
The GC in the Tour is about more than 1st spot. Top 10 is worth everything for some teams.
If Rolland actually drives for the GC is a totally different matter. But when teams have a man for the GC it's a GC contender. Doesn't matter if he contends for 1 spot or can only achieve a spot in top 15
GC contender eitherway. You should call it Yellow Jersey contender then if it only applies to the riders who has a great chance at winning the actual GC |

Purito isn't a GC contender. |

Too bad the wind wasn't strong enough. Great sprint by Greipel, seems to do this once a Tour. Hopefully tomorrow will be dry weather, considering the 2 hills and descends in the final of the stage.

Considering the mountains around the last 30km´s i would expect a breakaway to try to get home or try at the beginning to make a break.
But other than i would expect the GC riders to get home together with no fireworks at all.
Saturday will be thrilling where i bet we will see Contador test Nibali. |

Is it just me or is the race route a bit weird this year in regard to what stages are on what day? I thought (I could be wrong) that in GTs they try and make big mountain stages for the weekend (eg Giro this year; last year Tour we had both Pyreneean stages, Ventoux and Semnoz on weekends) whereas this year only the Risoul stage is a mountain stage on the weekend.

Hmm, last year was the 100year so i bet they put the mountains in the weekends so most people had a chance to see them and this year they are going back to normal.
Or it could be a coincidence |
