But I also noticed a lot of breakaways winning in career. But that could also be because of the unbalanced DB. (high main stats, very low end/res stats)
Does that mean they have got rid of the rubber banding they used to use? |

After 2 stages: sprint train is a one big mess. Noone keep his order, 3rd ahead 2nd, leader stops and accelerates. Nightmare.
In the options is slider "money prize factor: 1.0". I am just in Santos Tour Down Under but after 2 stage I dont see any money prize. They're back or not? |

I have not seen rubber bands in PCM 13. All flat and hilly Giro stages were won by the early break in my career. |

Okay, got the game, installed and staraight to Tour in stage race mode. First stage impression, nice changes in interface and so, not sure how new system with automatic rides works.
Everything works fine, peloton is chasing Stybar in the break hard, he was caught. I was OPQS, doing a train Tony-Boonen-Renshaw-Cav and that was a complete mess! Cavendish instead of following Renshaw like i ordered was glued to wheel of Kittel.
Renshaw was suddenly nowhere, even with energy being okay. So Tony led out Boonen to 10th and Cav won easily on hard against Kittel, Modolo and Greipel. But it was funny chaos.
Stage 2 loading.....CRASH.

My first impression is that "Finishing Installation" has taken 40 minutes and this is my 2nd installation try.

It finally works. Now when I press "Play" the menu closes and literally nothing else happens. Dammit.

Okay, time to break usual blaming-Cyanide chain after PCM gets released with few nice words about this version, which I like alot so far.
I actually like a gameplay alot this year. Graphics are great & it's so fluent and it's one playable game. Some stat-usage changed and it already feels better. I (actually Jesley, but never mind ) made me a DB with changed stat-matrix a bit and it's working great, really. Gaps on a TdF stage are realistic and as I said, it's definitely worth 40 bucks (when someone from Serbia that rarely buys any game says this - it's definitely worth!)
Few things to change in future patches. I know this isn't a support/official site, but I'll send this to Cyanide too, so yeah:
- That stage-crashing bug. It's probably one minor thing that makes a problem, so it shouldn't be a problem.
- Add MO stat in that pre-stage preview thingy. It's strange without it and it can be added easily, again.
- Change fonts! Please, please, please change fonts. They're so freakin ugly. Also, the font on the rider backs that is showing numbers is so pixelated and ugly. Just get this back to what it was in PCM13 and it's all good baby.
- Fix few minor career bugs like that no one from top favourites signs contract with a team in 2016 or small bugs and things like that.
Other than that, the game is great and I am sure it will be playable with some great databases upcoming.
To repeat, last time, it definitely is worth 40 euros, so go and get it now!

Got it working and played a mountain stage in the TDF and the hilly yorkshire stage.
The new interface is pretty slick but I'm undecided on the removal of the scrolling calender at the bottom in career mode ... the game looks more 'professional' without it but it was actually pretty damn useful ...
The favourites do a lot of attacking which makes the game more enjoyable but it's a lot less realistic. The AI attacking long range in the mountain stage seemed like a waste of energy and made it much easier to win, but on the hillier stage the AI don't tire as easily in a longer attack so its harder to win.
I haven't seen anyone mention the new music but I actually quite like it, not that it's a big deal as anyone who plays pcm long term listens to their own music anyhows but it'll be some more stages before I'm bored of it ! |

I like the new interface, I think the gameplay has improved.. and I like the additions in career.
But the fact that I have to reload the game every 2 stages and the fact that there is still a career bug, keeps me from playing so far. I'm back to PCM 2013 until PCM 2014 becomes more stable. And that could be a while.
Because it seems it's random again.. stable on some pc's. Unstable on other pc's, even when they are high-end. |

Exactly, i also have the good feeling about gameplay and general look, but as you say, game is unplayable now, every second stage crashes for me too and career is unplayable. I hope they will give us patches that make it playable sooner than September

They attack more than in PCM2013? I stopped playing stages in PCM2013 because it think too many favorites attack at the same time and that they are attacking too early and too often. So I hope this is not true.
On the other hand, if I don't have to play the stages it would prevent me from experience the crash on the second stage. |

It's strange, I bought the game yesterday and not a single crash.
For the moment I'm quite happy about this new version. |

I played another stage today the Val Martello one from the Giro and all the favourites waited until the last climb even though I had attacked with Nibali on the Stelvio so it's different to the experience I had yesterday.
Also it is probably different in career mode when not all the riders are maximum fitness/freshness etc |
