Mmm, strange stage but consistent with recent Tachira races where a half decent climber gets a good lead. Now the pressure goes onto La Vie Claire they could land a shock result here.

This is going to happen a lot with PCM13. Group of rides go early on a medium mountain stage and the gap to the main pack gets rather big (literally just happened in EPIC yesterday).
The benefit with Tachira being that there are some big days still to come. Tough enough racing from the big boys and nothing is set in stone.
Not in the true BOTD today but Gorka, who i mentioned as a rider to watch for a surprise GC result, delivered on a good race for the team. This is our first real points of the season (only took 5 days!) plus Panayotov is still with the rest of the favorites. Things could be better but i will take this happily

Well, not that i spent majority of last season warning about this happening in PCM13
We will see this many times this season, as peloton almsot never catch mid-stage escapees in PCM13, as long as former break of the day is caught (in "singleplayer", this serves as instant "i win" situation, as you attack when the escapees are caught and before they react the gap is solid and even 50riders chasing cannot close the gap to single or more later escapees. Possible even on extreme).
Other thing is that no gaps in 2012 edition were counterweight by extreme gaps in PCM13 (as Cyanide tends to move to other broken side of the coin, rather than fixing it properly). This can help us bizzarly from these situations, as Maillet and anyone in this situation can be possibly gapped by minutes on mountain stages, but not for sure when the rider is strong enough and have yellow jersey bonus (still more likely than crazy Hoffman thing in SA last year).
Add non functional stat to that and we have the winner for major fuck up prize...
At least acceleration is working again nicely in PCM13 (hopefully that will serve Rabon well), so i am ready that it will be unfunctional in PCM14.

Lima I knew he was a bad climber, but this is ridiculous, bodes well for the mountain stages
But I had 3 men in the big group, which certainly is an improvement from last year...

Okay, first of all: this is PCM, guys. So there will always be stages/races with ridicolous pathetic AI, we just can't change that.
But i may repeat myself here: PCM13 will still be better than 12. I've played more than two virtual seasons, the ManGame-way. With a whole different DB, yes. But it worked quite well. Unfortunatelly PCM tends to be to passive with it's AI in certain situations. Like said before, the peloton sitting up - e.g. - is the most annoying thing (which happened in PCM12 as well). I know it's kinda tradition to cry a river at the new game once the first ManGame-races have been reported, but it ain't cool. We all live with this new engine and we all know there's no PCM with all-too-smart AI.

There are much much much better past editions of PCM, better than PCM 13 (and i fear any other PCM in the future with set trend) that can be used. But if cool jerseys and buildings are the most important thing, we will continue switching to new game every year and cry that river , yeah.
I respect you Tsmoha, but i cant simply agree with you, even when you say you play two seasons and game is okay. Game is not okay and in many ways even worse than 12th edition and that can be spotted even in "singleplayer", where is that auto-win strategy...

I know the game ain't okay, but it's better than 12, imo And i know there might have been better PCMs, but we had that discussion before. Thing is, it kinda ruins the fun, when people keep saying "This will happen the whole season" after just a few races being raced. This is no offense, Avin, you're definitely one of my favorite MG-members and we do share a lot of opinions, especially those being critical and stuff

I say it will happen all season because i've seen it happen in EPIC quite a few times already. I'm not jumping to conclusions, simply deducing an outcome from the observed results.
However i don't mind if it happens all season. Randomizes things a bit which i thing opens the leagues up a bit. Plus PCM13 makes enough gaps, or has the same problem enough times, to almost cancel it out within the same race.
And it is certainly better than PCM12 where we had no/minimal gaps.

Okay, sorry for possibly harsh tone, i feel bad about it, as i follow this trend of lower quality every year and we have to agree to diagree on PCM13 being better than 12, as i think it is utter shit, that made me stop playing the series completely, as i can win 200stages on extreme with same tactics and i cant stop myself doing that.
That is why i was warning before the season, so the responsible people who choose the game that will be played in MG have enough time to test it all. Unfortunately i have the repution of bitching about everything, so noone is taking it sertiously.
Also i see that people dont see turning to older versions (PCM11 would be my pick) as possibility, which is a shame. But that is probably just me, who still play Diablo I or Baldurs Gate, because of how modern games sucks in comparsion to them. But enough rant from me, lets enjoy the season and hope that Rabon will benefit from shitty gameplay.

So, mate, here we are agreeing on something well, except of Rabon doing too extraordinary well

I know I can't complain after Stage 4 but seriously Sonnery? That stage was perfect for you. At least we didn't lose time to the break though. |

For a second I thought people would be losing time.
Sad. Now, time for Pedraza to show his wage at the mountains and wreck Maillet! |

Aaand when the break does get to the finish we don't have anyone in it. Try again tomorrow. Oh and be grateful everyone to the presence of Angarita, he may have saved some of your behinds

No one could really argue we didn't deserve a stage win after our very active days so far. Robov in his second breakaway gets us the seasons first win. Half way to matching last years tally already! Our new signings have had a great start to the season and so far we are really looking good and aggressive.
Now for the big days... Will be interesting. I hope Sarminento capitalises on his low gc position and attacks to take the pressure off Gorka and Peter

Looks like we got caught out on the wrong end of the split there, with no notable finishes.

Nice seeing Meintjes getting in the break and picking up points. Disappointing seeing the break survive and Rangel winning the bunch sprint.
