The Season is over! - October Review
GP Yekaterinburg
In our penultimate race of the season, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke would lead our team for the last time this year, hoping to improve on his lacklustre performance in Holland. He attacked on the final climb to force a selection at the head of the race but didn't have enough energy to finish first, in the end he finished 5th, not bad but not the victory we had dreamed for...
Tiernan-Locke finishing 5th in his last race this season...
Tour of Utah
This was the end of our season and some of our riders decided it was a holiday for the team and didn't do much the entire race... however, Richardson was not such a rider, despite crashing out of the GC on the first stage, he did manage to salvage some consolation for the team, taking a 2nd and 4th place in the process, not bad but it just showed how indifferent our season has been recently...
Richardson on the deck...
...but goes out fighting! chapeau to you, boy!

As a break down, we managed a total of 12 wins, 4 second places and 7 third places, not too bad on first glance but if you compare it to the final standings of the Continental Division, stage wins don't seem to give you too many points!

A good platform to build on for next season. As suggested earlier if Stannard can get some hill training in his legs he would be able to covert his TT performances into some GC placings and thats where the big points are.
Simon Richardson was the surprise performer for me, definitely a keeper .
Good luck in the transfer season.

Really wouldn't train Stannard. Unless you can get him +10 HI it's just not worth it.
Unless you get promoted after all, I'm sure we can loan each other some riders next season, too.

Hehe... I would agree with that as well, not sure about the cost of training him that much and I definitely think that my cap space would be better served by either buying a more reliable sprinter or having a stronger climber which can challenge for GC's, something which I missed out on, and I paid for it
Wouldn't mind promoting myself but if I didn't, then I would certainly be open to take in some loanees from you Dippo

Promotion and other news...
With the national championships, and therefore the season now over (which we will go into detail soon), the team can now announce that we are one of the lucky few who have been given PCT licenses next year, despite not having the necessary amount of points to do so. They say we are living in tough economic times and for cycling teams, this is evident as many teams have now disbanded in recent times, due to the unfavourable economic climate. We may not mind though, as we have been given the opportunity to promote by the MGUCI (which we are very thankful more!)
However, this has left us in the search for sponsors to fulfil the budget requirements necessary for us to operate in the Pro Continental division as both ASDA and Savers are not prepared to 'foot the bill' and has therefore left us in the search for a major title sponsor. Fear not, both sponsors will still be part of the team, but their names may not be as prominent as before.
In terms of finding a sponsor for next season, we have found a potential long term sponsor, one which is very local and is also keen to promote cycling. They are:
Yes! We have managed to secure a contract with the Yorkshire Tourism Board, they are keen to promote the wonderful landscapes of 'God's own county' and have also displayed an interest in the sport, most notably securing the start of this years Tour of Britain in our home city of Leeds. Chief Executive, Gary Verity has commented that he is very much excited by the prospect of sponsoring a team for the 2015 season, saying: "We are happy to sponsor such a local team, we are particularly excited at racing in the Tour of Britain as it starts in Leeds. We weren't looking into sponsoring the team but recent success in the National Championships, particularly Russell Hampton winning here just a few days ago, it will be exciting to see what he does next year."
Support from the Tourism Board has also allowed us to sign with a few more local sponsors, who will be unveiled when our jersey is ready. (hopefully soon!)
As previously mentioned, our team has raced at all of the NCs and we have come back with two champions, Chun Hing Chan of Hong Kong and of course Russell Hampton for GB!
Both our riders celebrating victory...
We may want to produce a list of targets for next season, but frankly, I probably wont have a strategy for the transfer season

Fair enough... thanks for papa TMM for correcting me
Would be a shame for Ewan as he could have had a monopoly on the CT quality British riders

Congratulations on getting a surprise promotion to the PCT.
I was shocked at the number of team disbandments.
Hope you get some good talent in the transfer season so your 1st season in the PCT has a few highlights.

Same here, although they have lead to my promotion so not all bad
Next season will probably be a struggle... dont know whether I should be loyal to my riders and spend the extra wages on some decent PCT talent or to do a little reshuffle of the pack, we will probably know come renewals...
PS does anyone know how to change the title of the thread? Thanks in advance

With the announcement of 'Welcome to Yorkshire' as title sponsor for the new season, the team has contacted previous jersey designer Maximka and we will thank him again for another great jersey, at the same time we can reveal the national jerseys to be worn by Chun Hing Chan and Russell Hampton in the new season.
There is also a chance to note the new minor sponsors that we acquired when we signed the sponsorship deal with the Yorkshire Tourism Board, they are:
Rapha - They are the new company which are jerseys are supplied from. They are well known and are looking to be the long term supplier after adidas dropped out.
Harrogate Spring Water - Supplies bottled water within the Yorkshire region, they will provide our team with some 'clean' fresh water during the season.
Yorkshire Building Society - Although being foreign owned, the bank has agreed to support this local initiative in return for some exposure.
Yorkshire Tea - Another 'Yorkshire' brand, being a popular tea brand, they are keen to promote themselves on foreign shores to those who need a decent brew...
Other than that, we have obviously maintained the support from our previous sponsors, being (excluding ASDA and Savers) UK Youth and Cervelo Bikes...
Our main jersey for the 2015 season
The GB national jersey, to be worn by Russell Hampton
Finally, the Hong Kong national jersey, to be worn by Chun Hing Chan...

Looks like I've got a new favourite team now. I go past the headquarters of Yorkshire Tea going to work, and of course Harrogate Spring are another really local brand for me. Best of luck |

Thanks guys! I'd like to say I worked long and hard on this but I'd be lying All credits goes to Maximka as I have said before, he's done a good job
@ Jph - Seems like you said the exact same thing last year, but what happened since then?!? (jokes aside, thanks for the good luck message, I will probably need it!)
@ Ewan and nacho - nice to see other people like the jersey as much as I do, they do look good dont they?
