Well then who won the 99-05 Tours? They happened, so there must be a winner. And for me it is Lance. Yes he doped, but so did those he beat, which for me and many others, still makes him a 7 time winner.
And for me, also, there is a difference between winning and being the "winner". Winning is crossing the line first, which Landis did do. He won the Tour. Pereiro finished 2nd. The fact Landis doped and was caught doesn't change that.
Unless all caught riders are stripped of their placings i, and others, will never see those promoted as the winners.
So yes, it is down to your interpretation of winning.
@Count
Yes i get why they will not, but they should
For the first paragraph : if you don't want to give it to the second, make it more simple : there's just no winner. And what would you say to Moncoutié (to name just one), who came 12th overall in 2002, beaten almost only by guys caught or deeply involved in doping issues since then ? "Nevermind pal, they all doped around you, so you're not the winner, Lance is". I don't consider it's fair...
As for the second, they shouldn't, but I do wish they would. |

Well that's odd, but well not like Eurosport in Australia has anything better to run at said times, considering Utah was live for every stage in Australia, unless I am remembering it incorrectly.
Haven't got the first two stages of the Tour of Alberta live here anyway, so guess we'll see what happens with it on Eurosport in Australia when live stage coverage begins with Stage 3. Which I just remembered is this morning... |

The secret git is at it again :
Spoiler It’ll be interesting to see what happens to guys like Andreas Kloden. Now he’s a fantastic guy. I love it how he cruises around with the European Union flag on his helmet instead of the German one. He’s quite an individual and makes his subtle stance on the way he’s been treated by his home country.
“Contract year” is always a running joke. For one reason or another, riders will often have a smashing year when they’re motivated by needing a contract in the next 12 months. Those BMC guys have it good though. We call it “the BMC virus” – they often sign their riders for three years, which allows the riders to put their legs up, have a two year vacation, then come out in their contract year and smash it.
Tell me he's being ironic. Please tell me so...
Then he goes on with a rant at MPCC (but makes some points). |

The Secret Pro kind of gets on my nerves, he does make some good points but more often than not he just waffles on and picks easy targets

In yesterday's broadcast of the Vuelta, Belgian commentators said Hilaire Van der Schueren (Vacansoleil-DCM directeur sportif) needs one more million (euros) for a project he's working on. They mentioned De Gendt, Devenyns and a third guy that I forgot would be in.
Were they referring to the merger of Vacansoleil and Crélan? |

On the subject of the identity of TSP, maybe it's not one rider but multiple riders? |

Yeah this article really pissed me off. At first hte articles were quite good, calling people out for their shit, etc. Now it is just another (wilfully) blind rider not wanting to break the omerta. The only time where the article really talks about doping as a problem is for those riders who had already been caught and are just really easy targets. This line was another gem:
"Even a guy like Chris Horner is coming under more fire from his Vuelta performances for the mere suspicion of doping than the Jamaican sprinters did for testing positive for doping!"
I mean, it is accurate and I appreciate that point but please, can we use a better example than Horner?

I think that paragraph is more a critique towards both Athletics and its media coverage than a defence of Horner.
Edit: here's the full quote:
I’m all for consistency of testing throughout cycling, but what’s really frustrating is seeing the inconsistency between sports. Even a guy like Chris Horner is coming under more fire from his Vuelta performances for the mere suspicion of doping than the Jamaican sprinters did for testing positive for doping! That’s disturbing. I was probably tested more times at our pre-season training camp than Novak Djokovic was the entire year. Seriously.
In the next paragraph he even goes on and supports the strong anti-doping efforts and the media scrutiny on cycling.
In short you could say he's actually justifying and supporting the scrutiny on Horner instead of defending him.

"Even a guy like Chris Horner" at its core implies faith that Horner is clean.

I love the pic with Thor and Phil in the pool!
It's intresting that he goes on about the BMC virus as Clarke is Cadel's best friend in the peloton

I found the Contador/Riis part quite interesting. Tinkov made his opinion rather clear, but it's news to me that Bjarne isn't happy with Alberto either.
Strengthens the suggestion of him joining team Alonso.

Meanwhile, after failing to get nominated by his national federation, by the Swiss one, after forcing the board (which is beyond his legal power) to examine and accept retroactive nomination from third-part countries, the saviour of cycling Pat McQuaid has basically denied CAS the right to check the legality of the process and will run for a third term as UCI president.
He also found time to claim cycling would lose its seat at the IOC if somebody else gets elected.
Excuse me, I need to puke. |

Taaramäe will take a surgery at Denmark to solve a throat problems.
Test results was badly threated asthma and throat what shrinks during max effort.
Lets hope that ends wasted two years.
Already mentioned that Kangert extended 3 years with Astana. No surprise ..they get him almost free two years ago..today he is super team mate for GT and has been super stable every race he starts.
