That was all the wait worth I guess
Unbelievable effort from the team a 1-2 during the Tour was something I have never thought of.
I guess Santander will be paying much more attention at the next stages, are there any other stages where you could expect some wind? Around 20-50 km/h?
With having Cunego early in the yellow jersey we need to do the work now but thats why I have picked this team.
Next stage a medium one but Cobo, Lloret and Duenas should be able to handle that one.
After the ITT (I hope that Cunego can hang on as it's not pancake flat) the first mountain stage. The stage I am really looking forward to as the final climb is one hell of a climb.

Nothing surprising for my team. At least Kreuziger tried to do something in the breakaway, Henao didn't drop too much time as well. And Forero missing the time cut could be positive news for my team in the end, it could open chances for breakaways in flat stages for my team, especially for Coppel.

Hmm... Interesting and good to see Augustyn on the move, not so nice to see him drop out of the top 30. He showed in the Giro that he could be capable of a top 20 overall here.
Vanoverschelde crashing wasn't nice, though, that should give Impey a couple of nice opportunities if he survives the coming mountain stages.
Thanks for the report, CountArach, and congratulations to Rin, magnificent racing from his team there. |

Another stage in green is nice. I'll take everything I get.
It's a bit of a blow to lose Bernaudeau already as he would be suited fairly well to stage 7 and especially stage 17. It was always a gamble as to whether or not he would make it to stage 17, but I thought he could make it to stage 7 and with some luck get a 6-7th place. It's all up to Rolland now, and he has been a major dissapointment in the TT's so far.
Hoping for a lot of attacks on the next stage. I need every bit of attacking luck (not necessarily from my team), to keep green for another day.
Nice reports, and good thing we are going again Looking very much forward to the battles of the mountains, while I can relax reading the reports, knowing that I have got nothing to lose.

Not quite as good from Ponzi there, but still chipping away at the points is fine by me, hopefully he can outscore Cunego on the flat stages and keep within shouting distance on the mountain/hilly stages enough to at least challenge for the points overall.
Pity to lose Burke from the team, but was to be expected considering he was there purely for the TTT effort and a bit of experience. |

I had said Ponzi would be a big candidate to green jersey and I was right. And Sykkel, sorry for this: Duarte |

The points classification is a nightmare for us so far.

My best rider on the day lost 16 minutes. Kinda expected to lose another minute or 2 but 16 wow. Chris Anker Sørensen and Pierre Rolland shouldn't be that bad. I guess they are supporting Guerao.
Oh well, doesn't matter much. getting a 30th or 50th place GC isn't much of a difference. I'd rather they try to go for some attacks. Rolland tried today.

Pluchkin 3rd, Guldhammer 4th, Steensen in the break and Grivko keeping up with the favourites. Good so far and hopefully Pluchkin can take yellow in the time trial eventhough Cunego usually does pretty well in ITT in the Man-Game. Going to be exciting!

My plan of gathering "massive" points with Duarte by racing all three GC's didn't work so well. Will be good for him to come back to PCT I think.
Good performance by Sagan, challenging Ponzi to the line! I can't wait till next year when Sagan is maxed out and even better suited for these kind of stages. Brambilla also with solid racing on the last couple of stages.

Sagan vs Ponzi in years to come will be interesting, that's for sure!
Very nice surprise for Wyss to take a podium, great transfer for me in the off season. Even better to stop Cunego taking any time bonuses/points.
Points jersey wearing, score! |

We're terrible at picking the right moment to attack (points finger at Augustyn). Though, it's good to see him try
Congratulations to Wiggle and rjc, Ponzi seems to be a class above the rest on such finishes in this Tour.
It will be interesting to see who gets to wear yellow after the time trial. If Pluchkin gets it I think he can hang on to it all the way to Paris. |

I always wait for the breaks to be set and hope I got riders in them... I get dissapointed every time. I just hope my riders will be there when they are allowed to go free :-p Maybe I should hope Castenada miss the time-limit :-p

By which point Ponzi might have trained a little more |

Cunego with a dominant performance on the Mont Faron.
Really cool to see Ponzi winning! He's one of my favourite MG-riders

Yeah Ponzi is certainly one of those long term developers that is nice to see do well.
Also I like the idea of a Grand Tour stage hunter, the hilly stages in the Tour proving far more fruitful than the pretty dismal hilly breakaways (though I'll admit I benefitted from it) in the Vuelta.
Decent effort from SRB attempting to get in breaks and making late moves and thanks Count for sticking with this Tour one week almost down and now we get into arguably the exciting stuff (though things have happened already).

Btw, I see I haven't posted about the winning situation. I'm rooting for Cunego this year, both becuse I like the Lotto-team after them dominating PCT last year, but also becuse this is his last year in the tour. It is perfect for the mangame-legend Cunego to be the first (mangame) rider to win 2 tours, a great ending to his awesome carrer. I hope we see him take his last Giro next year, as I doubt he can do it 2 years from now.
Other than that, this is season got the mangame at an interesting crossroad. The old legends/stars are declining either this or next season (Cunego, Boonen, Benatti, Schleck, Sella, Fothen, Cancellara, Zabriskie, Rogers) and the new stars are taking over (Madrazo, Tenorio, Phinney, Coppel, Bewley, Sicard, Bakelants, Hagen).
A fun fact: If Pluschkin (spelling?) wins this all GT-winners this year won for the first time ;-)

Tenorio has me worried, I fear that he's going to make Madrazo lose time at some point.
