Maybe you´re right, a crazy fan need space for his fist and he found it in Merckx stomach bazinga!
The only thing... if remember well, at today the road is closed for Amateurs Riders for the dangerous downhill, and maybe they will build a trainrail over the road for the turist. But this have been a Real Finish line in the tour de France xD
Sorry for the links in french. JF Pescheux said that the road was too narrow.
It's more large than other roads tdf do like the Horquette d'Ancizan. It's a question of money i think. Galiibier demonstrate that if they wants they can go anywhere..

I like the fact that the first Pyrenean stage ends at La Mongie is not just a summit finish - gives some nice scope for attacking near the top of the Tourmalet
Thi variant is looking great so far. Only thing, is that the distances is not correct. Ex. the Plateau de Beille. Irl its 224, in game its 213. And alot of the other stages is likely to have the same mistake. Up to 15 km difference, thats way to much. Can't figure out how you manage to do it!

KIU!
I think it depends from some wrong misurations during the gpx phase... the misuration on the 2d profile is much longer cause rondabouts, longest path through cities... the climbs are ok, that's whats matter for me. Don't think that if t4b misuration is 224 is really 224.

There will be an additional difficulty to that crono, that will be represented by the Col du Serre-Eyraud. It's a crono of about 80-85' effort... and it will obviously change the general overall of the tour de France!
